It was a beautiful September day when I visited the sea caves. It was low tide. Therefore, one could observe the vast, expansive sea bed/beach. At the same time, 6-8 tour buses were unloading tourists from the 3 cruise ships docked at Saint John Harbor. This caused a bottleneck of people waiting to cross a small creek to reach the caves, but everyone was in good spirits and friendly and helpful. There are only 2 large sea caves to enter and see, but you are able to walk quite a distance around the rocks and the shore at low tide. My consonant and I biden our time, waiting for a chance. Opening of no other individuals in the caves so that we could get a photograph of ourselves in it, and that worked out great. The town of St Martin's, the sea caves and eating seafood chowder and a lobster roll are definitely 10 Star activities to put on your bucket list!

Went at low tide and walked way out into the bay! Had to cross a small stream of water to get to the "caves"! Boy, it was cold! I was a little disappointed as they are really not caves, but just erosion produced openings in the rock walls. They don't go very far back either and are roped off because of rocks falling down. But, it was fun to walk so far out into the bay where the water was at high tide!! Wear water shoes as you do have to walk in the water to get over to the "caves". Depending on when you go, the stream can be as low as ankle deep and then just gets higher the closer to high tide you are. Try to get there an hour before low tide so you'll have plenty of time to explore the area before the water starts coming back in!!

So before you get disappointed when you visit these caves/ hole in the wall, let me clarify these are called caves but essentially they are like giant hole in the side of a cliff. Particularly created due to millions of years of ocean wavws bashing against the cliff walls ending in a giant hole like formation. At any given time checkout for the tide schedule before you head out to watch these caves. There is a small parking lot next to two small restaurants that serve decent food. The parking is free and you can use the restrooms at the restaurant even if you are not eating there. This is not a beach but a washed out seabed so wear proper shoes preferably waterproof so you can walk on the damp red mud and stones.

Short drive from Saint John along a scenic route - well worth it! As with any location along the Bay of Fundy, make sure to check the tide schedule before arriving - you'd want to be there at low tide and stay a little longer to see the tides come in. Fascinating. Take a stroll along the exposed shore, search for green crabs and baby shrimp in the shallow pools left by the retreating water! The cave formations are very impressive. To get there from the rocky beach, you'll cross a fresh water stream which is exposed at low tide (it can get more than ankle deep) - bring a change of shoes in case. Plenty of parking, and a couple of great restaurants in case you get hungry.

You need boots to get closer to the caves at low tide because the area is rather muddy and there is a shallow stream that you have to wade through. The caves look great event from afar. it is better to go in the evening as the sun will be behind you when you at looking at the caves. The beach area is rocky so it is nice to walk around. The Caves Restaurant staffs were very friendly and helpful as they opened up the toilet just to let us use them even when they have not opened for business. Overall, a nice place to visit, avoid going in the early morning as the sun will behind the cave.

Really enjoyed the beautiful scenery and walking on the beach. My kids really enjoyed the caves and the waves. My advice to a first time is check to see when tide is out for that particular day and wear shoes that you don't mind getting wet. I wore a sandal with s thick bottom and I did great but there are slippery spots and some spots you have to climb to explore the true beauty of this place . Also plan for a picnic as there is limited restuarant space due to covid. We managed to wait and get it but were starved by the time we got in . The food was amazing !
