While on our Canada and New England cruise, we had the chance to meet a wonderful driver from Syria who highly recommended visiting St. Martins. He told us how beautiful the area was, and we decided to take his advice and drive there with him. As soon as we arrived, we fell in love with the breathtaking scenery and the peaceful atmosphere of the location. It was truly a hidden gem. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to sit down for a full meal at Caves Restaurant, but we wanted to try their food after hearing great things. So, we picked up several items to go, including their famous seafood chowder and fish and chips. We ended up having a picnic in the car, which turned out to be a unique and memorable adventure in itself. The food was fantastic — the seafood chowder was rich and flavorful, packed with fresh seafood, and the fish and chips were perfectly crispy and delicious. Even though we didn’t get to enjoy the dining room or the stunning patio views, the takeout experience made our visit extra special. We loved being able to enjoy such great food while surrounded by the beauty of St. Martins. If you’re ever in the area, don’t miss this restaurant. It’s a wonderful spot with amazing food and a great location. We can’t wait to come back and enjoy a full meal there next time!

I recently had the opportunity to dine at The Cave View Family Restaurant during a tour. While the restaurant was officially closed for the season, they graciously opened their doors to our tour as a caterer, providing a limited menu with four options to choose from: Seafood chowder Chicken strips and fries A garden salad Minestrone soup I decided to go for the Seafood chowder with a biscuit and a cookie. It's worth noting that I can't provide detailed feedback on the service, as it was more of a "bag lunch" situation than a traditional dining experience. However, I can comment on the food. The Seafood chowder was quite enjoyable, with just the right amount of salt to enhance the flavor. It's clear that they put effort into making a tasty chowder. The only downside was the biscuit, which arrived cold, impacting its overall appeal. On a positive note, the cookie I had was a chocolate, chocolate chip delight, and it added a sweet and delicious touch to the meal. In conclusion, my experience at The Cave View Family Restaurant was influenced by the unusual circumstances of being outside of their regular season. I believe that a visit during their normal spring and summer operations might provide a more satisfying dining experience with a broader menu and better service.

My boyfriend and I visited the St. Martins Caves Restaurant on Canada Day hoping to grab a nice takeout meal for supper. We ordered two of their seafood bowls at $18.99 each, expecting a hearty, satisfying meal, especially for the price!! Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The portion size was shockingly small. My bowl was not only tiny to begin with, but it also wasn’t even filled to the top… a good quarter of it was missing. For a restaurant located in St. Martins, where you’d expect a more family-friendly and generous approach to serving local seafood, this felt very disheartening. The bowl was mostly soup with barely any pieces of seafood at all. I approached the staff politely thinking it may have been a mistake, but was told that’s just how it is. While the customer service was friendly and professional, the value for money simply wasn’t there. For nearly $50 in total, we left feeling really disappointed and honestly a bit ripped off. I understand this place has received awards, but based on our experience, I won’t be returning. It felt more like a money grab than a community minded, quality dining experience.

WAS EXPECTING WAY..WAY better food than we received..IF YOU HAVE A RESTAURANT BY THE SEA YOU GOT TO BRING YOUR TRIPPLE A GAME. YOU REPERSENTENT SEAFOOD TO PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD. BRING YOUR TRIPPLE A GAME. OR DONT PLAY THE GAME..So we didn't know how it would be as it was our first time eating here. I ordered the 2 pieces of fish and chips for my wife. And I got an order of fresh clams for myself . Which is normally enough for me at OZZIES or CLAM DIGGER... I was shocked, and my wife was as well. 😲 at the size of the clam order i received. I MEAN SHOCKED.. LIKED SHOCKED...SOOO.... SOOO.....SMALLLLLLL we could not believe it. For real..22$.SHOCKED.... I Ate the clams within 2 minutes. They were not great as well. REALLY... There, Tarter sauce is terrible tasting. Just sitting in the heat in a plastic cup on the counter not safe to eat.. REALLY... Didn't satisfy my fried clam craving at all. I had some of her fries , they were good. WOW GOOD FRIES. and a little piece of her fish. We both found the batter to be salty. My advice...Drive to Clam Diggers if you want great tasting, Fresh Clams that satisfy, and a good amount for your money. And better fish and chips ( Not Salty ) for half the price. The view is not the water. But you can have a better tasting meal at a cheaper price. And the water is...
