Right next to the PEI NP Cavendish section, it has 2 gift shops at the lighthouse, must be frequently visited during high season. The shop owner told me that tides brought sea water to the shop front almost everyday. The lighthouse is truly a house, a small family can comfortably live in it.

We went to see the lighthouse and we were not disappointed. The grounds are very rustic but that was part of the charm. There’s a beach, restaurants, shops and lots of little cottages and places to go for a walk. Plenty of parking but it fills up fast.

J’y étais un dimanche splendide et ensoleillée. Arrivée vers 16h30. Oui, beaucoup de gens à la plage, en location de kayak, dans les boutiques ou restaurants ainsi qu’en croisière. Nous avons réussi assez facilement à se stationner - plusieurs touristes avaient déjà quittés. Plage de sable rouge, sans toilettes si bac de déchets mais super propre! Nous sommes arrêtés souper sur une terrasse tout au fond de la péninsule - Chaudrée de fruits de mer délicieuse à souhait ($18 , très raisonnable). Ils tolèrent les chiens en laisses. Plage au fond de la péninsule, près du phare, accessible en auto. Parfait pour y descendre sa planche à pagaie, canot ou kanak..! Ça vaut le détour..!

Cooky, rustic in a crazy way. We rode our ebikes here from Cavendish Beach, about 6.5 miles each way. This was a really beautiful outing when put together it as one excursion after visiting nearby Anne of Green Gables.

I was here at Sunset right after dinner at Blue Mussel Café. The setting sun behind the harbor light was gorgeous, and the view of the bay is another favorite view with the setting sun.

We took our kids here to see the lighthouse, shops, ocean, and restaurants on our way to Cavendish. They loved the shops and food. You can see the damage from Fiona. PEI was hit hard.

Description
The North Rustico Harbour Light is an active lighthouse on the central north coast of Prince Edward Island, Canada. The station was established in 1876 and the lighthouse itself was built in 1899. It is still active, and has a focal plane of 12.5 m; and a yellow light, 5 seconds on, 5 seconds off.
