FRUGAL ARTIST PAINTING CLASS WITH HEATHER DEHAAN.

Heather took on the Zoom challenge of giving people new to painting a chance to learn some basic skills. Heather has been able to successfully connect with us and using technology, teach us painting skills. Her teaching style takes us step by step through the process of painting a picture. Looking at the proposed picture prior to each class, I felt I would never be able to paint it. Yet with Heather's guidance I did manage to do the painting and in fact feel quite good about them. She clearly explained each step, answered questions and provided feedback on adjustments to make. I was usually not able to finish a picture during the class time so worked on it later in a relaxed and enjoyable time, applying the knowledge and techniques learned during class. My teacher was Meru. She taught me a great deal as a beginner. I am now confident with mixing colours, understanding light in art and shading. The time went past so quickly. The overall experience was fun and relaxed and I learned a great deal. The downside is not being able to each other’s art over the computer in detail. We managed a way around that by sending a photo of work via email or message where a much better representation of colours etc came across. I would highly recommend Meru as a teacher if you...

I have just finished my second art class with Susan DelBianco: it is a beginner class, no prior knowledge or special talents required, but Sue knows how to bring out the best in her students, and we all ended up creating amazing paintings!
