Shell Park — Attraction in Oakville

Shell park has a little bit of everything. A dog park ( or at least that's what it looked like Sunday morning separated from everyone else by a parking lot. A skate park that both younger kids and average teenager/adults would enjoy, a playground with swings ( only stairs for the actual equipment no ramps) a highly manicured flower garden in the summer, 2 picnic benches, and a more open area with a small trail by a creek. Great off leash dog area, but a few really neglectful dog owners. I once couldn't get into the park in because a dog was so ferociously barking at us waiting at the gate to get in. Owner did nothing other owners did nothing, had to leave after a while. Also had groups of owners too busy talking to address the fact their dogs were as a pack acting aggressively to me and my small dog. Walked away without our ball. Dog park always has friendly people and non-aggressive dogs in the leash free area. Sometimes the local animal control hangs out in the soccer parking lot waiting to observe by-law infractions. Obey the simple by-laws and this is the dog park for you if you're from the area or just passing through.
