Just moved my Daughter into Res. The staff / volunteers were very helpful and knowledgeable. Everything was very well organized. Rooms are very clean and spacious. *Edited September 12/ 2022 Moved my Daughter in for her second year at Georgian College, Orillia campus in residence again. What a complete 180' from last year, her room that is shared with three other students of whom were also moving in, was a complete mess, No staff representing the residence buildings and rooms had clearly not entered or performed any type of safety check prior to our daughter's moving in. Carpet was ripped, couch ripped and taped with duck tape, smoke detection inoperable, toilet seat not attached in the one washrooms, A/C unit line frozen and leaking heavily on floor, towel bars ripped off walls, light blubs missing from washrooms and bedrooms, no screens left on windows, trim hanging around windows, a bag of garbage left in living room and previous tennents appliance left in kitchen, washing machine was left with water still in the drum for who knows how long but smelled disgusting and was plugged, as well as there being water inside the upper dryer drum. Currently after the first rain fall water is now pouring in through the living room window. Now a student RA did attend the room as we were attempting to move in and fix as much as he was capable of fixing. Point is for the amount of money being paid by students times the four units, not one staff member representing Georgian Orillia residence had not done their do diligence in ensuring these rooms are safe, and in living condition. Katie Eaton was on site that day but didn't bother to come and...
Read moreThis college will wast your time and take your money. The DSW program is crippled by old people stuck in there old ways that will not help you at all. Jack shell is is horrible at his job doesn't get back to his emails and will fail you. He does the bare minimum so he can just get by. Debra morrow is the head director and she is very old and has no idea what's going on and will not accept pervious placement hours she will make you re do them all even if you pass. This college should not be running this program if they can't find anyone younger then 75 and doesn't understand technology. pretty sad people working with other individuals with disabilities will take advantage of you just because they know they can. If you can Go to algonquin college Ottawa they are up to date and have much better professor they are up to date with thing's and won't take advantage of you. I repeat dont wast...
Read moreI came to this campus location to do the motorcycle training course and M1 exit road test that this college offers and after a weekend of instruction by highly knowledgeable and friendly staff I left with my certificate and a smile on my face. If you're someone in the region looking to get this course done I highly recommend this location as the teacher to student ratio is amazing. Our class only had 10 students and there were three helpful and kind instructors guiding us through the process of learning to ride a motorcycle for the first time and then master the skills required to complete the road exam. This allowed for a lot of personal coaching throughout the process which was awesome. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and I look forward to coming back to do the M2 exit test one day in...
