Looking for a day trip that is educational and free? The OPP museum has many exhibits to learn about history, stories, as well as law enforcement and civilian careers. There are interactive exhibits like the identi-kit for learning about composite sketching, books for reading with children related to law enforcement, puppets, and costumes. There’s so much to learn about that it will take more than one visit. There are some great vehicles 🚓 and motorcycles 🏍️ to look at and sketch ✍️ or paint 🎨 The gift shop has some great swag as well! Be sure to check out the vehicles to the left side opposite the museum. I haven’t been able to find an individual washroom but Georgian college nearby has some so be sure to stop there first if you need to use one. The accessible buttons aren’t always functioning. Be sure to bring identification as it is required to enter. You will have to buzz the intercom to speak to someone and show them your identification to enter. Be sure to check out the outdoor area as there is some nice outdoor places to sit and eat. A cafeteria is also there if you need to take a break to eat.
Visit the globe a sculpture dedicated to those who lost their lives to suicide. Don’t miss the vehicles and boat 🛥️ past the gift shop!
Double bonus: they have compost! Efforts towards diversity in the exhibits and stories shared is observed.

My time there was a very excellent opportunity to learn the history of the OPP. My sincere thank you to Brian for your time spent with me there, and to the entire museum team for your dedication to the project. A truly...
Read moreFantastic museum! I like the self guided tour setup. The guide brochures are free and easy to follow with Case numbers. Very informative and interesting. The only disappointment was nothing about the Golden Helmets! That needs to be included!

Also bring ID as security coming in the building requires it for a visitor's pass to the OPP...
