Dealt with water dept this week. I had a leak in my house which required a plumber. I needed my curb stop shut off to stop water flow to my house. I called and the city rep was focused on the leak being my responsibility. He isn't wrong, in my house it is. But when we shut off the water main to the house (city responsibility), it still ran, which disabled the plumber from replacing the appropriate pipes in my house. Belleville gets a big fat 0 for community relations. Give that guy some training. The City worker who disabled my main was awesome. He acknowledged that the curb stop needed replacement and replaced old parts for me on the spot. He gets a 5 star.. The individual who dealt with me on the phone was more concerned with addressing who's responsibility it was to fix and not acknowledging the fact that I can't do work here until they fix the curb stop to shut off water flowing in the house.
My basement was WET.
Can't do any work if the water doesn't disengage! Why is this guy representing that department....
Read moreI wish I could Belleville a higher star rating but I can't. Many things are great about Belleville. The Bell Blvd., restaurants, box stores, the Quinte Mall are all good. The downtown is another situation. For a city that has invested millions into upgraded roads, sidewalks, sewers have still missed the mark of improving the city center. Many stores are empty, finding a parking spot when you do venture downtown is difficult. Also, the parking police chase potential shoppers away with large parking fines. City council need to give this entire parking authority a review and ask themselves, is the net revenue gained worth the gross income of people not coming downtown and spending money. Lots of investment for a fire hall, new police station, and many other infrastructure projects, maybe slow down on these huge capitol projects and allow the citizens shop downtown with a few less...
Read moreThe central area to get everything you need to know. Personally, I would like to thank this amazing building for allowing me a chance at redemption. If it was not for Belleville City Hall, I wouldn't be out here doing what I can to help every place I go to. May God bless this location for years to come and that the hard working committee is at the top to allow people to have their voices heard. I was able to sit in on one of their meetings and I must say; it was exquisite to see the political banter up close and personal. Thank you to the Honourable High Chairman for being able to judge righteously on how their Municipality should run. I learnt a lot from that one sitting. For any further questions, please do not hesitate to talk to the receptionists who are more than able to direct people on...
