A classmate of my daughter suddenly died at the age of 12. The school did nothing to help the students except for having a councillor on hand for a few days. When it came time for grad the students wanted to finally get a chance to memorialize her. It was forbidden. Several parents called the board and asked for a group meeting about this. The meeting was denied and the board felt it was appropriate to not memorialize this child. Their policy states that if a child is memorialized it may cause another child to be sad and they wouldn't have councillors available at grad.
