I've visited Vetta five times personally , and have also gifted passes multiple times—so I've spent a considerable amount of money at this spa. While the hydrotherapy experience is good, they've noticeably declined in customer service and dining.
Hydrotherapy Experience - 4/5 Vetta offers a great hydrotherapy circuit with multiple saunas and two infused steam rooms. However, the steam rooms aren't as hot as they used to be, so we spend most of our time in the saunas. They have a designated quiet area, but unfortunately, many patrons don't respect this rule.
Dining - 2/5 If you're looking for a food destination, Vetta is not the place. I strongly recommend skipping the upstairs restaurant, KOIVU. While they boast Finnish-inspired dishes, the menu was underwhelming—hamburgers, sausages, and salads. I ordered the chicken burger, and it was quite literally two frozen chicken patties slapped onto a bun served with undercooked potato wedges. For a restaurant that requires reservations and claims to offer a "fine" dining experience, this was extremely disappointing.
The service at KOIVU was also painfully slow despite the fact that there were only three tables seated. Our server didn't check in on us or ask how our meal was.
The downstairs bistro, SAVU, is the better option, offering a nice soup and sandwich. The charcuterie board lacks variety and comes with too few crackers. Their drinks are tasty but mostly ice, so don't expect more than a few sips.
Customer Service - 1/5 When they first opened, customer service was excellent—staff were friendly, and eager to help. Now, I don't know what's happening with management, but things have gone downhill FAST.
For a spa that is constantly fully booked and charges premium prices, they should be able to hire a dedicated customer service representative to answer calls, emails and reviews. The fact that the last response to a Google review was two years ago speaks volumes.
In December, I tried booking a last-minute visit and attempted to redeem my gift card online. Their system wasn't accepting it so I spent three hours calling with no answer. I emailed—no reply. Sent a DM on Instagram and Facebook—no response. It is impossible to reach anyone.
Finally, at 8:00pm I got a call back. By then, all of the slots for the next day were booked. The staff member on the phone said "Next time, pay with a credit card and we will refund you". No offer of a discount, no attempt to fix the issue. The next day, they called back with a last-minute cancellation, offering us a spot starting in 30 minutes—not much time to get there. Luckily, we had already arranged a babysitter, so we reluctantly accepted just to salvage the day.
More recently, we gifted my brother-in-law a Vetta gift card, and he had the same issue with the booking system. They had to physically drive out there to reserve for today. When he and his girlfriend got there, the power went out, and they were asked to leave. Instead of offering a refund or a proper resolution, they were rudely told they wouldn't be refunded because they had already been there for 3 hours (when in actuality, it had only been 2.5).
This level of customer service is completely unacceptable for a business of this scale.
At the end of the day, the only truly enjoyable part of Vetta is the hydrotherapy—and that's because you do it yourself. No staff required, no service issues, just you moving between pools and saunas, which makes it the only thing they can't mess up.
As someone who has visited multiple times and spent a considerable amount of money at Vetta, I'm disappointed by how things have gone downhill. The hydrotherapy experience is solid, but their customer service and dining options desperately need improvement. The lack of responsiveness and refusal to properly address guest concerns is frustrating, and unless management steps up, I can see this spa losing it's reputation over time.
Would I go back? Maybe, if they can improve in...
Read moreI visited the Vetta Nordic Spa for the first time yesterday (Sunday). It was wonderful to spend a lovely day with my friends, unwind and have some mommy "me" time.
Things to Bring Water bottle - no cups or anything to get water so the water bottle is useful to stay hydrated - they have a few refilling stations Swimsuit (of course) Slippers/Sandals (mandatory) - If you do forget them, I did notice you could purchase them for about $35-40 dollars
Pros You can make a reservation online in advance, there cancellation policy also seems very reasonable - I appreciated the email reminders - thank you Close to Toronto - just over an hour drive with no traffic The spa itself is very spacious and picturesque in nature I enjoyed the sauna, steam room and the relaxation pool (the hot stone sauna was out of order). They have ample amounts of lounge chairs and areas to relax I love the fire pits - so refreshing and warm I appreciated the no phone policy in the spa area and it seemed like it was strictly enforced - thank you They have two sides; a quiet area and a social area - It great to have two spaces - this accommodates individuals, couples and larger groups They provide you with a comfortable robe, 2 towels and salt scrub (love) in the change room - I didn't see a place to replace them so I am not sure if that is possible Wrist bands instead of keys - nice touch
Cons CUSTOMER SERVICE needs a lot of work - the manager was condescending and rude - When I asked for her to change my locker number as it was not opening - she told me I didn't know how to use it. I told her three people tried and it wouldn't open. I said I would appreciate being reassigned a new one. She refused and said I will show you how to use it. As we were going back to the change room, she asked another staff member to help me. That staff confirmed that locker #25 indeed was not working properly and I would need to be reassigned a new one. The whole thing could have been avoided had she just listened to me and trusted I knew what I was talking about. I felt that she was being prejudice against me. I hope in the future she can learn to speak to guest in a respectful tone and not belittle people. UPSTAIRS LOUNGE - we went to go grab drinks in the upstairs lounge, there was no one there when we were seated. The host sat us and provided us with water. She said the server would be with us shortly. When the server (same person as above - the MANAGER) came, she didn't bother to come get drink orders from us. She started to serve people who had arrived after us. When we went and told her that we were waiting for a long time. She brushed us off and didn't care to serve us. We left and went downstairs, the staff downstairs were way better and super helpful. Even though they were short staff downstairs - they greeted us and spoke to us kindly and apologized for the wait CHANGE ROOM - it is VERY busy, people are coming and leaving at the same time so it creating a rush in the change room and showers (6 stalls), it is not a big space so can feel crammed quickly. In my shower stall, there was no conditioner, the girl next to me had no shampoo, conditioner or body wash, I heard another girl say she had no soap. I did not see anyone working in the change rooms, cleaning or restocking supplies as they finished. I highly recommend to maintain a clean change room/shower that someone is there refilling and cleaning regularly. You could tell that it had not been cleaned in a while as the number of salt containers in the showers were piling up.
Overall, my experience was great with the friends that I went with. We had fun catching up, relaxing and unwinding. I hope the above matters can be addressed so that the experience can be a 5 star one for future guest. I know they are new and looking to improve hence the...

My partner and I recently visited Vetta for our 10 year anniversary. We actually came from 2 hours away primarily to come to this spa because of what the experience promised. We had visited another Nordic- style spa in Ontario a few months prior and were excited for a similar (or better) experience.
We were so, so disappointed to have the complete opposite experience.
We arrived at our designated check in time and it was soo busy. Nothing I would imagine for a spa. There were so many people in line and in the change room that it was actually overwhelming (not to mention the many people struggling with the lockers, including myself).
We didn’t really have a great customer service experience at check-in; we were having an issue with a gift card and felt like we were talked down to during this conversation while also being told that it was too busy and they needed to help other guests so we would have to come back at checkout if we wanted to make it work. I totally get being busy - I work in customer service - but it definitely made us feel like just a number and not a guest at a spa. Not to mention the anxiety of trying to enjoy the spa while knowing we would have to deal with this again later on. The staff were overwhelmed and it was clear. We were then shuffled off and had nothing explained to us (where to go, what was available to us, where to scan your bracelet, etc).
We saw a gentleman who worked there standing in the lobby so we approached him to ask what we needed to know before getting started. He was kind, and helpful, and at one point he explained that Vetta is like an “adult waterpark” - and the most disappointing part of this experience was learning the truth behind that.
This is NOT a relaxing spa where you can “rest", "relax" or "recharge” (just some of the words used on the website).
People were literally yelling and shouting (“wooo!’s”), and some guests were also screaming when they would do the cold bucket. That’s fun and I’m ALL for a good time but it became very clear very fast that this spa wasn’t for a couple looking for a relaxing getaway - this would be more fun of an experience with a group or bachelorette party (for example). There is a quiet section, but of course sound (and screaming) travels, so it wasn’t really quiet. We didn't personally see any staff around monitoring this. Not only that but the warm pool there was very full so we didn’t have an option to even go in there.
The amenities were okay (read: not horrible, not exceptional), but were also all so packed - and as a side note we watched multiple people burn their feet at the door of the steam room (luckily, we didn’t - but this just also added to the non-relaxation vibes while we were trying to enjoy the steam room and I can't imagine how their feet must have felt!).
Overall, we were so unhappy with our experience while we were there that we left after about an hour and a half (which was unfortunate considering the cost of entry, which was higher than other Nordic-style spas we've visited/viewed).
Luckily, upon checkout, we did have someone help us with our gift card issue and the customer service agent made it clear it wasn’t an issue as it had been presented to us at the beginning (she is the reason I added a star to this review).
Don’t get me wrong - this spa is beautiful (another star), and it looked like the the people who were there in groups were having a good time. Unfortunately that just wasn’t the experience that we can share with others and made for a really disappointing anniversary/big...
