Very nice casual trail for beginners but great for all to enjoy.

Things to bring: Bug spray in spring and summer Sunglasses Bird feed - all year round ☺️ Good footwear - boots in winter, if it's been raining be prepared for mud Camera - must have, perfect nature shots await! Jacket - again depending on season, can be cool in the shade for some

As you will find out 😉, very nice winding paths, some roots to watch for but very easy to navigate. Some beautiful wooden walkways with amazing vantage points to take some pics. What kind of animals? The main attraction is the beaver, but can be difficult to spot, busiest time would be spring. But plenty of birds (chickadee, blue Jay, woodpeckers, sparrows, and more), lots of squirrels and chipmunks. There are two outhouses and they are decently clean and stocked (bring some hand sanitizer of you prefer). Parking is ok, some large potholes to watch for, and it can get quite busy on weekends and holidays. Hope you enjoy, we love going to feed animals, and watch for the turkeys 🦃, they can get quite close but it's been safe so far...

Nice hike with lots of options and things to see and do. Beaver Lodge in the marsh near the junction of beaver and chipmunk trail. Bird sanctuary is seasonally tour-able. Chickadees everywhere. Very habituated to humans, will land on your hand to eat bird seed. If you have the time you can hike the connecting path to the lime kiln trail and visit the ruins of the lime kiln site.

Chipmunk path is mostly woodchios and flat. Beaver is a mixture of woodchios, crushed rock and natural terrain. Lime Kiln trail is mostly crushed rock with one hill to walk up.

Great for all ages, very popular with...

This is a beautiful place on a crisp winter day. Once you get away from the congestion at the front everyone can spread out and enjoy the space. We have returned a few times. In spring bring lots of bug spray! Still a great walk but bug spray is a must. Due to the major storm in May there are lots of trees down so be careful. The crews are working hard to clear the paths but there are still obstacles. Always look up because you never know when you...
