🇨🇦 Kid-Friendly Hiking Trails Near Ottawa 🌿

Finally, the snow has melted and spring is in the air—time for some family-friendly hiking adventures! 🌸🐾 Over the past two weeks, we explored three short, easy trails perfect for kids, all located close to Ottawa. 🌿 Jack Pine Trail This 1-hour loop is a bird-lover’s paradise! 🐦✨ Our 5-year-old had a blast feeding chickadees right from their hands—just bring plenty of birdseed! 🍂 We also spotted squirrels, birds, and even a garter snake! 🐍 Last week, there were still some muddy patches and leftover snow, so rain boots or winter boots are a must. 🌿 Sarsaparilla Trail A super short 20-minute walk—ideal for tiny legs! 🌟 The highlight? Cute chipmunks darting around, which kept the kids entertained for ages! 🐿️💨 The lookout was closed when we visited, but the trail itself was dry and sneaker-friendly—no mud puddles in sight! 🌿 Beaver Trail This 30-minute trail is great for nut collectors—we found hazelnuts scattered on the ground! 🌰 A few early spring flowers were blooming, and while there weren’t as many animals, bird-feeding spots were still a hit. Some muddy sections, so waterproof boots are recommended! Pro Tip: Even at midday, the forest stays chilly, so bundle up! 🧣 Also, waterproof shoes = happy kids (and parents)! We love these easy, nature-filled escapes—perfect for tiring out energetic little ones while enjoying the outdoors! 🌲💚 #EasyHikes #HikingWithKids #OttawaHikes #FamilyTrails #NatureWalks #OttawaLife #OttawaOutdoors #UrbanHiking #SpringHiking
