Five stars, 100 per cent. This place holds so many memories, and is just a great place to walk around in. I haven't seen any dangerous wildlife, nor any dangerous insects. The trails are mainly safe, some are very unsafe for bikers. I remember as a little kid that going down the hill into the deep forest was very scary, then I got a bike and friends and then I went down there and saw so many cool things. To this day, I still explore, finding new things and new trails. This place is also good for manhunt.
I'll list big downsides;
There is no help coming if your phone dies and it turns night. You are stranded in pitch darkness, only hearing the leaves crack as hopefully chipmunks walk over them, the trees creak, the birds.... well, after a little bit, they stop speaking. Allowing for you to listen to leaves cracking noise...
Read moreI love this little park. I hike here regularly. Great place to get into the outdoors for an hour while still being close to home. Great place to walk your dog. Just be aware if you have a reactive dog that some areas of the trail are narrow, be prepared to venture off trail to let other pass. Even though signs are abundant that there are fines for off leash dogs I have encountered many off leash dogs. Still love this park, the views of the Ottawa River through the trees at sunrise are stunning. Trails are well maintained. New trail signs went up...
Read moreHad a Saturday afternoon stroll with my family. I read a previous review that this park was "stroller friendly". If you are taking the path along Laurentian Drive and the yellow access road on the map, YES..it is stroller friendly. Once you go down the hill towards the Old Fish Pond, NO it's not stroller friendly because of the tree roots. It rained a few days prior so there was lots of mud.
