The City of Richmond Hill really hit a home run with the renovations at Lake Wilcox Park—it's a massive upgrade from the old Sunset Beach. The waterfront promenade and boardwalk are fantastic for a peaceful evening stroll, and the sunsets over the water are genuinely stunning. For families, the splash pad and huge playgrounds are a major plus, and the youth area with the skatepark and volleyball courts keeps the older kids busy. The biggest downside, and it’s a huge one, is the parking. If you’re a non-resident, the hourly parking fee is steep, and on summer weekends, the lot gets swamped and street parking is almost impossible due to permits. Read moreLake Wilcox Park is a fantastic spot in Richmond Hill, especially after the big revitalization they did a few years back. The waterfront promenade and the boardwalk are the real stars—perfect for a peaceful stroll, and the sunsets over the water are genuinely stunning. You can easily spend a few hours here just walking the trail or relaxing by the water. The big drawback is parking. If you're not a Richmond Hill resident, the pay parking is expensive on weekends, and even with the added lots, it gets absolutely slammed on a nice day. Read moreI love Wilcox Lake in Richmond Hill. If you go on 404 North, exit Stouffville Road, go west, turn north on Bayview Ave, then you will arrive at the Park in five minutes on your left hand side. There are ample free parking spaces. The park is beautiful, with clean pathway for a casual walk on the waterfront promenade of 10 to 15 minutes, and with some benches for sitting or reading a book. You could also enjoy sea breeze in summer. The park has amenities of a splash pad and a playground for family activities. The only thing the park lacks is a decent washroom. I try not to use the mobile washrooms if possible. This is the area the City of Richmond Hill should look at. Overall rating: 4.70 (because of no...
