The site was beautiful, but unfortunately, we encountered some unfriendly individuals during our visit. We are an Asian family from Ontario, and as we were leaving the site, a green car passed us on the dock. A young lady in the passenger seat leaned out and hurled offensive remarks at us. We chose to ignore them and proceeded to our car.
To our surprise, the green car began to follow us, even when we parked our car in the police station parking lot. They stopped about 30 meters away, seemingly waiting for us. Concerned for our safety, we promptly contacted the police.
After our call, we noticed that the green car had left, and we resumed our journey. However, we soon realized they had circled back from a different direction. Fortunately, we turned in the opposite direction, and they didn't appear in our line of sight again. This was, without a doubt, the most distressing experience I've had during my 23...
Read moreI highly recommend this aquarium - it is a spectacular crash course in the aquatic biosphere of the St Lawrence. The exhibits and tanks are recent and well maintained and all placards are available in French and English. The Exploramer project team of the temporary exhibit should be especially proud. My partner and I were in awe of the immersive experience and detail considered.
I learned a lot at this aquarium and yes, while smaller than some others in larger cities, the focused and dedicated facilities on the St. Lawrence biospheres are worthy of visiting. The facility remains well updated with current findings and events. I think I've even been convinced to exclusively buy eco cleaning and showering products! We enjoyed a nice coffee at the cafe afterwards and found really interesting food products in the gift shop.
Bravo team - lovely facility and I hope to visit again sometime...
Read moreMy family and I really enjoyed our visit. The staff are very friendly and well organized. They took good care not to let too many people in at once and ensured everyone followed the COVID-19 public health guidelines throughout. As such we were able to enjoy the touch tank demonstration and most of the regular exhibit offerings. The shark exhibit was interesting and important but could have been more balanced so not to vilify them as much as it does at the beginning. We appreciated the amount of information in each exhibit, especially on the scientific research surrounding marin life and ecosystems. We were hoping to go on a sea excursion but it was canceled due to high winds. The staff were very sympathetic and we were refunded without issue. We hope to return again someday to experience this beautiful region of Canada and get out on the water...
