I absolutely loved this spot and if you are looking for a biking or hiking stop this is the place. Myself I can this time for my first visit with my mountain bike. The parking lot was large and easy to get to just off HarbourView Road in Sooke. There is lots of room to park and features clean new put toilets as well as recycling and garbage cans. For bike riders there is also a nice bike wash to clean your bikes after the ride. I have been to lots of trail areas and feel this is one of the best mapped and signed areas I have visited. There are area maps at all the major interactions and trip markers identifying the specific trails. They state the type of use ( bike hike horse) and difficulty as well if it is one way (bike) We chose the Mt Manuel Quimper route so we can see the fire lookout. What amazing spot with views as far as Victoria and across to the Olympic Mountains. This is a must do area for anyone that loves the outdoors.

Probably the single greatest park in Southern Vancouver Island temperate rain forest highland zone. It is not just a fantastic recreational area or a wildland for today but for many generations to come. Its year round accessible tails span hill tops, ridge lines, flow lines, dramatic hidden gullies and technical slabs to a lake district. Thanks to all the trail builders, sponsors of the Sooke bike club and the CRD staff that make this possible! Pack for the season, have a plan, and enjoy safe trails.

There's so much hiking to do in this region, it's unbelievable. Lots of really great trails and waterfalls and little peaks to see! It's always cool to get to see the plethora of flowers and funghi that start growing in the spring. Can't wait to go back and explore more! There's outhouses and good parking (if you get there early)! Just remember to be bear aware and bring gps unit as there is not a lot of cell service back further in the trails.
