Visited Saturday July 12th for our first visit. Staff are friendly to greet you at the door and admission is only $8.80 which is a bargain for what you see. We didn’t see anyone else in the museum we had it to ourselves what a hidden gem. Some treasures inside including the oldest steam engine in Canada and manufactured goods from across NS. Our toddler very much enjoyed himself, there are play stations to explore in each section of the museum, a crane that small kids can operate, and a pretend train right when you walk in. Stop in and enjoy!

We visited with an age range from tiny tyke to bonafide elder... everyone enjoyed their visit. We played with the toys and used the complimentary wheelchair. The docents are friendly and informative. The displays are easy to understand and very interesting. I really felt like I learned a lot about Nova Scotia's history, and its time as a powerhouse in early Canada's development. Parking is great. Handicap accessible. Washrooms are clean. It's a wonderful place to spend a few hours on chilly days, or to beat the heat in the summer.

Excellent museum of the history of different types of industry. Water, electricity, weaving, machinery, many different directions. The mannequins are made in a simple form, but look good together with the exhibits of the museum. You can go into some places to look from the inside, and try some on your hand (like the weight of cast iron kitchen utensils, or turn the handle of a hydraulic turbine). A good museum and it was very interesting. There is also a souvenir shop and a very large free parking lot here.

This museum was more than I expected. We spent a good 2/3 hours there with the kids. The exhibits covers the history of a huge variety of industries in NS. There are many interactive displays, an astounding attention to detail and background explanations. Paul was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, interpreting the mining & steam power exhibit in French for one of the members in our group. We highly recommend this museum if you want to learn more about Nova Scotia and its past and present industries! My daughter had even lost her lip balm in the souvenir shop and an employee found it and put it aside for her - she was able to get it...

One of our yearly trips is to this place . It's so very cool well laid out. Great for little kids , big kids and Adults. If you love trains it's a must go ! They have two real trains and one model train set up . But they have much more then just trains . They have a great exhibit on how they used to make glassware as in plates and they explain how pharmacies used to make pop. It's pretty cool and if there's some places that are interactive as well. Also have a play area inside build like a train . They have a section on the...
