Absolutely a no go again for me. As a resident in the Okanogan I pride myself on learning the local wineries so that I can take my guests on future winery tours, I decided to treat myself and one of my guests to a wicked wine tour of Summerland, so that we could fully enjoy the experience. All of the wineries that we visited were not only friendly and personable, inviting but as well they had fantastic wines. Haywire however was a complete disappointment all around. Here is why: We were forgotten about with people being served before us despite walking in after us. We also held a reservation. It took a solid 15 mins PLUS before we got served only AFTER having to tell our tour guide we hadn’t been served yet So we might be longer than normal. Then our person came out and said she had forgotten and gave us no explanation, no history or anything noteworthy. Our wine flights didn’t even have the correct labeling on the boards and she pulled off dirty ones from a different table that had just left- no wipe down nothing. Ew. The wines were awful. And I love wine, not hard to please (bought over a case worth from the others we visited) not a single one was worth it to me and I didn’t finish my sampler.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Not impressed at all. Wicked wine tours however was amazing and saved the day and turned it...

After ten years visiting Kelowna, Summerland, Penticton and surrounding area annually to taste wines, I tried this winery for the first time today.

Firstly, amazing wine! Love they are organic and there is an awareness of sulphites as some of us are quite sensitive and get headaches from sulphites! I really enjoyed the very unique narrative Syrah/viognier and the unoaked chardonnay (for a non-chardonnay drinker, it was the best I have had on bottleneck drive or the Naramatic bench, so much so, I excitedly bought a bottle!)

Secondly, the young man who provided the tasting was just first rate! He was unpretentious, personable, clearly passionate about wine, and so open to questions. Customer service can be hit or miss these days and this gent was terrific and personable (watched him with several tables of different ages and wine backgrounds and he was great with them all).

I appreciated the approach taken at the winery: rather than telling you what you should taste, you are given some of the highlights of the wine and left to taste, and then you can chat away about wine notes afterwards.

Highly recommend the wine, winery and terrific service! Left with several bottles and will...

I wanted to share our disappointment regarding the experience we had at your winery yesterday. Unfortunately, the customer service provided was poor, and we felt unwelcome during our visit.

Yes, we arrived without an appointment, as our group made a spontaneous decision to stop by. However, we would have appreciated it if we had simply been informed that walk-in visits weren’t accepted, rather than being treated the way we were.

We have visited many wineries around BC over the years and have always been treated with warmth and respect. Sadly, that was not the case during our visit. We couldn’t help but wonder if we were treated differently because we didn’t appear to be high-end guests. Please know that we didn’t come just for a wine tasting—we came with the intention to purchase, and we did buy your wine despite the unpleasant experience.

It’s disheartening to feel judged or treated unfairly based on appearance. We chose your winery because of your excellent 4.8-star rating, but we left feeling disappointed and mistreated. We sincerely hope you take time to reflect on how all customers are treated, regardless of how they look, and strive to offer the same quality of hospitality...

We visited Haywire on our way back from the Kettle Valley steam train ride. We didn’t make a reservation, but got in right away. However, I definitely recommend making one, because we did get the last available table on a rainy day. At any rate! The winery is beautiful, and the hospitality given by everyone was welcoming and so friendly! The architecture and design of the winery is really what I like to point out - it is so modern, a lot more contemporary than others in the area. I had asked about the formed concrete work (because it is outstanding!!) one of the founders used to do concrete work, before opening the winery. I also love the story behind the name “Haywire!” We really enjoyed all of the wine we tasted. Will be back next time for sure.

Haven’t even started our flights yet and already a five star experience. Was greeted promptly by two lovely employees with a glass of their vintage bubbly. They are hosting a private event but still found us lovely seats on their patio despite us not having a reservation. The wine knowledge of the server who brought our menus is impressive and we are excited to try our flights of natural bc wine. Edit (after the flights) What a lovely experience! The staff were so knowledgeable and friendly. The variety on the tasting flights was great and so was the charcuterie board! Left with more bottles then we planned to buy haha. Thanks to the whole team at haywire for a great afternoon we will be back soon!

Don't come for the view 😕 Some very nice but expensive wines and so so snacks. They are very proud of their facility, and their concrete storage tanks, but we were only interested in the end product. . . Too much detail for me. We walked up here via Switchback Rd to try a couple flights of their wines, and hoped to enjoy the view of the lake from the higher altitude. Unfortunately whomever designed the winery and tasting rooms didn't think to provide a view for their guest. The view from the outdoor and indoor tasting areas is poor at best, as you can only see their wine equipment. Almost no view of the lake until you head out to the parking lot. 😑
