This is a small beach in comparison to others in PEI, and generally not for swimming. We went there to look for 'sea glass'. We did find some good pieces, but there's A LOT of regular glass pieces, small stones and weeds on this beach. Wearing footwear is a good idea. I can see why people rave about this spot for sea glass. The tide seems to bring a lot of stuff in there. The water is pretty dirty and debris filled. Not a good swimming/sun bathing beach. You're essentially only going there to find sea glass. There is a store there that will make jewelry of the sea glass you find, or you can purchase premade sea glass jewelry. Read moreI went to look for seaglass. I would NEVER walk on this beach barefoot as there is a lot of sharp-edged regular glass in the sand. I did find lots of small pieces of seaglass referred to as mermaid tears. I had much better luck finding larger pieces on Campobello Island.
There are public bathrooms and changing rooms at the right end of the parking lot. There were also two places serving food. The parking lot holds around 40 cars.

Also, clusters of bones (cow or bison) washed up on shore both days we went. Suggest sanitizing any treasures you bring home in a bleach bath. With a lot of patience, you can find a fair bit of sea glass, worn china. Nice boardwalk restaurants. Great parking along the boardwalk (we went on cloudy days, and early). Best place to find...
