Read moreThis is my 6th time renting from Canoe Lake and this most recent experience was the best possible one so far.
Online orders are simple and straightforward.
On-Site they have created a single line for rentals which made everything much faster. The young summer staff was keen to help me get organized with my group and all the equipment was in excellent working condition.
I would recommend that if customers are returning their equipment to the beach, that a trailer is provided to shuttle boats back to your facility once full to avoid the walking/carrying. That would be a nice helpful touch after returning from a trip.

Read moreOur quest was to visit the Tom Thomson Memorial Cairn and totem on the north end of Canoe Lake.
Canoe rental was a breeze with quality canoes (and even paddles for the kids) and the lake was calm enough for the 2.7 km (1.6 mi) paddle (each way) to the memorial. Coordinates for the cairn and totem are ... 45°33'30.9"N 78°42'56.0"W ... with a small dock below for tying up to. Read the history and climb the hill to the totem and cairn at the top. A beautiful tribute.
