It’s a beautiful place to start and end your trip in Algonquin. I have visited this Access Point many times since I started going to Algonquin four years ago. This access point has everything that you need. Good toilets, boat launch ramp and parking. Along with that it has the Portage Store, where you can rent canoes, kayaks and anything that you would need for camping. A restaurant that you can get some food before or after your trip into Algonquin Park. It is also where you will pick up your Camping Permit. The people inside have been very friendly every time that I went in there. I am normally there on August long weekend, and it does get very busy. I can see it also being busy on any weekend where it is one of the first main locations to enter Algonquin coming from South West part...
Read moreHad a great 5 day Canoe Trip....Prices are a bit high in the park now admittedly. For a two week camping trip, expect to be out some serious pocket change. But its mostly a Provincial Park thing. Lots of tourists, lots of beginners....and a few of us old time campers and canoeists hanging around. Good place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life to experience Canada's wild life and nature. Ample mouse, black bear and aquatic wild life running around the park. Do your best to leave the next campers fire wood and a clean site in the park, and you'll likely always receive the same courtesy. Enjoy the park. Most Canadians from Ontario have camped here...
Read moreThis store was really great for rentals they had everything we needed for our canoe trip. Maps, canoe accessories, life jackets, and lots of great advice. We'll certainly visit here again. We found out later that they can deliver canoes to our site, which we will utilize next summers visit. Beautiful views and so many little places to canoe around. We camped at Tea lake campgrounds which was located right on the lake with an amazing view. We also were a short walk to the washrooms and water source. Very clean and well kept place. See you...
