One of the best attractions of the Stanly Park is this famous rock ‘Siwash Rock’. I have been to the sea wall many times and every time the park and the sea wall look gorgeous. There are several parking bays around the park including a few big parking lots. I am afraid the parking price is a bit higher side. But all worth to spend time in one of the best attractions of Vancouver. The Three Lions Bridge looks astonishing from the walk and if you like selfie the you are in the best place.

This was one of the most beautiful rock I have seen Lol This rock, with this little tree on top of it! I swear I could've stood there for hours just admiring it. The beauty of it was just so amazing. My pictures does not capture it's true beauty.

A very unique rock emerging on the seashore of Seawall trail in Stanley Park. I've been so eager to see some very lovely life -- otters, cormorants, etc. -- enjoy sunshine somewhere on the rock every time when I hike to this point.

Every time I ride, skate, jog or walk past Siwash rock I feel a sense of calm and strength. There is beauty and power hiding in its craggy, seabird-poo covered, facade.

It is an iconic basalt stack wich formed as a volcanic die formed in the surrounding sandstone. As the westher and time wore the sandstone away, Siwash remained.

I find it is most beautiful and powerful at sunset. The Squamish legend which surrounds this stone is just as powerful.

"It is said that thousands of years ago, a young chief named Skalsh married a young girl from BC'S north coast and they wanted to start a family. The night before Skalsh's child was to be born, he and his wife swam in the waters of hat is now called the Burrard narrows to purify themselves, as custom, in preparation for birth. WHEN his wife crept into the forest of Xwayxway as the Squamish call Stanley Park, Skalsh continued to swim to purify himself and his family as his child entered the world."

"Challenged by the Gods to stop swimming and move out of the way of their holy canoe, Skalsh continued to swim to purify himself for the sake of his daily. To commemorate his bravery and commitment to his family, the Gods transformed him into stone as he swan back to shore, towards his wife and child, at dawn. The rocky outcrop serves as a symbol of 'clean fatherhood'". - Johnston's account of Squamish Creation History.

Go visit at sunset. you will not be...

Just a cool spot to stop by along the seawall with a funny looking rock. There are a couple of benches here to just sit and gaze out into the waters. It is west facing, so it would be a pretty place to watch the sun set. There is space to park your bikes here for a few moments if you want to rest from your bike around the...
