Gellatly Nut Farm Regional Park — Attraction in West Kelowna

An interesting free activity for the whole family when in Kelowna. You can walk through the nut farm and learn about the farm's history - they have various points with information boards. It is short-ish walking trail. Dogs not allowed on the trail through the farm. The farm is set practically on the banks of the Okanagan lake. Free parking. In season you can buy nuts. We were there early spring so the trees were still bare and just shooting. Lots of squirrels. Fascinating to see the old farmhouse, barn and other buildings still standing. It was still beautiful even with no leaves...

Took wedding photos here. There is a massive tree that makes for perfect ambiance. We go every summer. The shadows of the trees make for amazing lighting for photos. The playground and beach are a favorite with our kids. It has a roped-off swimming area that is at a very gentle incline ... perfect for the little ones. It is a rocky beach, so bring water shoes. The water is extraordinarily warm and clean. The bathrooms/change-rooms are always immaculate. We were lucky enough to see deer grazing along...

My husband came during business hours LAST monday at 10am . Travelling back to Vancouver. NUT FARM CLOSED. I CAME DURING THE WEEK AT 11AM. CLOSED Now it is the Saturday Of a long weekend. I asked a person just walking around picking up from ground..Is the office ever open?? Her reply.. actually later this afternoon SATURDAY which is NOT a day normally open... that they would be open.. WHEN?WHAT? IS IT??? MAKE UP YOUR MIND... TIRED OF DRIVING FOR NOTHING...guess I return to Vancouver empty handed...YOU...
