White River Ontario is a small town just west of Wawa Ontario anf I usually stop here for gas or a car wash depending on what is needed the most 🤣 usually a car wash 🤫 🤷‍♂️ and this beautiful little town happens to have where the story of Winnie The Pooh began, a small memorial park right along the highway and easy access from the highway with plenty of parking in the back and along the side road from the highway.

It is these little memorial things that you find right along the highway which brings back memories of not only your childhood but the memories of your childrens and siblings and all around who grow up to watching Winnie The Pooh 🥰🙆‍♂️. I told my nieces and nephews about this place and so later on this summer I am taking them for a Lake Superior Regions Tour and will be stopping here and some camping experiences for them.

Oh by the way, there are plenty of local reatuarants here you should stop at and try their homemade style food, very...

Talk about staff with zero knowledge zero motivation Zero personality....The Site??? Please have some pride in your Community... It all starts at the top ...I looked up who the Mayor is Mayor. Tara Anderson Hart...There is absolutely no excuse for this vistor center to be in this condition it is quite obvious there is some type of miss management going on here . Town folks better ask where all the money is going because it's not going to the only big Revenue stream the town has ...... The lot of you should should all be asking alot of questions on this. Leadership here in this little town sad just sad ... Fyi your so called supervisor of this visitor center couldn't even give us 2sec to explain anything Congratulations on being #1 worst visitor center we've been to in All of North America...coast to coast.... so at least your #1 somewhere .... An awakening to the lost a weary soul. This monument of gargantuan proportion is sure to set in perspective the strife and suffering of this broken world with the healing presence of one glorious pooh bear. A caution is to be delivered to the skeptics and scoffers who bar their soul from all that is light and joyful on this humble rock know to us as home. This type of person dwells in darkness not as a means to change it or help others in their state, but rather as an attempt to prove to themselves that the darkness is not so bad. Such a person would rather degrade their conscience day by day than put any effort at all into changing their habits and position before God. Such a person may claim to have a completely unbiased view of the world, though I would caution you against trusting the view of a man who dwells in darkness. This monument shine a ray of joy into...

A cute memorial to Winnie the Pooh and interesting to remember the history behind this bear. Excerpt from The Canadian Encyclopedia, "Winnie-the-Pooh is a popular character in children’s books, movies and TV series. Originally appearing in Winnie-the-Pooh, a children’s book written by author A.A. Milne in 1926, the fictional character was based on a female black bear found in White River, Ontario. The bear, also called Winnie, was resident at the London Zoo, where she had been donated by Harry Colebourn, a veterinarian in the Canadian Army during the First World War."

One of the things I like about road trips is discovering fun facts. While travelling in Northern Ontario, I learned that the bear Winnie (named after Winnipeg) who inspired Winnie-the-Pooh came from the White River area. Winnie would eventually be given to the London, UK zoo, where author A. A. Milne and his son Christopher Robin saw her, inspiring the Pooh character. At this site, you can find a tribute to White River's most famous local bear, as well as picnic tables and a playground. A perfect place for a rest stop.
