It is the largest university both by total student enrollment and campus area in the province of Manitoba, and the 17th-largest in all of Canada. The campus boasts dozens of faculties including the first medical school in Western Canada, and hundreds of degree programs. In addition to its main campuses, the university also operates a French-language affiliate, Université de Saint-Boniface in the Saint Boniface ward of Winnipeg. Read moreThe facilities themselves are pretty hit or miss outside of the well-funded ones (EITC, ALC, etc). Public transit is great if you like the idea of freezing in the cold since bus shelter is scarce. The food tends to be overpriced and anemic. Covid killed many clubs and even some very large and active ones (Anime club) can't get their own room.
If that wasn't bad enough, several programs are horribly underfunded, understaffed, and competitive. For my program (comp sci) the profs are mostly bad with a few superstars. But the worst is that co-op is competitive, difficult to get into, and offers absolutely NO webdev courses! That was unacceptable 10 years ago and is even more so today! Despite having just graduated, I'm forced to teach myself missing skills since I can't get a job.

Read moreThe most horrible and toxic universities I’ve ever been. Please review other universities in Canada before you sign up for this one. As a student that studied in other universities in Canada this is the worst experience I’ve ever had. 01) professors are horrible they are not up-to the standards. Avoid coming to Agriculture/ food science/ bio systems eng. 02) university itself robs you and steals your money. They don’t have a good and consistent policy with students fee. They come up with policies however they want. Financial aids and student fee coordinator are the worst to deal with. 03) Parking is another worst experience. Over priced not enough parking permits issued but so many free spaces in the lots. You can get daily parking in downtown for way less price compared to at the university. This university is lost. Not even worth enough one star. Please look for other universities experience here is not worth...
