very good uni-local dinner. the menu offers something for breakfast, lunch/dinner. although not huge, i appreciate the simplicity of it. overwhelming menus can be such an eyesore. i ordered a breakfast meal (forgot which one) but it was delicious and for a great price too. ($8 for the meal i tipped $2). this was my first time there, the girl at the register explained the dish i was interested in, and offered me a more detailed printed menu to read from as I was interested in what each dish encompassed. she was very friendly and patient. they also give you cutlery if you order your food to go! my meal was delicious, hot, and cooked well. would definitely go there again. one nitpick though, the hasbrowns were not seasoned, which i understand is a good 'fresh palate' for otherwise pickier consumers. but i don't remember seeing salt and pepper packets at the 'self serve to go condiment station'. would've been a good add. (unless i'm blind and completely missed them. in which case never mind lol) they also do not give you bags for to go, just the box. which is perfectly fine and very eco friendly. but just warning any busy-handed visitors.

overall and excellent, local, university owned diner. highly recommend and would definitely...

For a student currently studying in the University of Manitoba, Degrees is a good place to go for some down time when you wish to have your lunch and if by chance you are studying late, for dinner as well. A place that is fair trade and even has some halal options which is absolutely wonderful. All of this and they still try to keep the place price competitive compared to most other establishments. They have some pretty solid deals when it comes to breakfast in particular. The seating environment is great, the staff are friendly and the food is well satisfying. The only thing I would say lacking would be more halal and kosher options. Considering there is a great number of muslim students on campus, it will definitely go a long way in attracting many new customers. I for one can certainly say how much I would be thrilled if they managed to get halal chicken fingers. All in all, great place , great staff and good food. It is even more admirable that they try to maintain this establishment; fair trade and environmentally sustainable which deserves some props. Would highly recommend for at least trying out if you...

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant! I ordered a mushroom burger but ended up getting a burger with vegetable sprouts in it. I mean, I wanted a MUSHROOM BURGER but didn't see a piece of mushroom in my burger. To make it worst, It was paired with a rice. Who eats a burger with a rice? It was my first time coming to this restaurant, he could have asked me at least if what side I want to be paired with my burger. On a side note, I went back to the counter to order a drink but I stood there waiting for somebody to take my order but apparently the guy who's supposed to take my order chose to chat with other customers who have their orders taken. I've waited for the guy but he seems like he wanted to really ignore me so I ended up walking away. NEVER...

Oh, Degrees Restaurant you really outdid yourselves this time. Let’s kick things off with the falafel. No sauce? None at all? Sure, it looked nice, but it had all the flavor of... absolutely nothing. Who knew you could make chickpeas taste like cardboard? Bravo! Now, onto the pièce de résistance—the smashed beef burger. Butter-drenched, no salt in sight, and paired with some gourmet burnt fries. No picture, but trust me, you’re not missing out on that culinary masterpiece. The blandness was truly a sight (or rather, taste) to behold. And let’s not forget, we blew through nearly $80 on this flavorless adventure. Who needs good food when you’ve got Instagrammable dishes, right? Thanks, Degrees. You really nailed the "aesthetics over taste" game

Located on the third floor of UMSU, this small restaurant is considerable on the basis of what you order. I ordered the cheesesteak, it was definitely worth the money at $16. The bun was buttered and toasted with roasted peppers and mushrooms with an aged cheese. Not many spices but the veggies add a decent amount, the beef was tender. I recommend adding more salt and pepper seasoning. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The service was good, being polite and respectable. I will be ordering this again.

Eat here a lot because not a lot of places open late when studying. Breakfast is good if you get the breakfast price before 10am! But other than that all the other food is okay. I've ordered the giant poutine twice and both times it was served kind of cold?? Or like warm never hot. I'd avoid the pasta too tbh. Breakfast is the only reason I'd go here. Kind of like a sad version of Stella's.
