This is posted more than a year after the fact, but it still needs to be said. When making a purchase, a previous customer's transaction for $250 of gift cards was not processed and the counter person said it would clear before my under $10 purchase was made. I believed this and tapped my card when they said it was ready, realizing immediately I was charged for my drink AND the $250. The counter person admitted it was their mistake but a manager could not be contacted right away and they did not know how to refund the transaction in the meantime. Spoke to the manager in the days following and they had to investigate first, which took well over a month, for such an obvious error on their behalf. Then Frances said he would like to meet to remedy the issue but it was very difficult to arrange a face to face during exams and then regular semesters being over. Eventually, they quit replying to messages and also numerous attempts to get in touch with Food Services resulted in no replies. Contacting Corporate Starbucks was pointless as they kept saying they had no control over the University run franchise over and over, and never appeared to bother contacting the UofM store. Eventually Corporate Starbucks said they could get involved but then told me I should have contacted them sooner as now it was beyond the point they could do anything. Moral of the story is to check and make sure you are being charged accordingly first because the money I was overcharged should have been back in my account the same day or by the end of the week. By admitting they overcharged and yet made very little attempt to return that $250, almost suggests that the manager might have just kept the money and the others that should oversee this like Food Services and Corp SB are complicit...

How can you mess up with an americano order as Starbucks? They burn food. IF these issues were rare, I would not bother write a review, BUT ALL the time! Even I cannot drink my SO BASIC COFFEE with peace. I do not think they train new people well. They even do not know what splash, a little bit, not too much milk means. Come on. They are just messing things and they even do not know how to fix it. They do not know drink names. Only one or two employee there know things well, oo yeah you are lucky if those employees do your order, otherwise welcome to the mess. I wasted so much money there BUT today was the last time. Read moreStaff are lovely, too bad they either can't hear or have the memory of goldfish. Twice in a row they got my order wrong, on the same drink no less. I ordered a venti, they punched in a charged me for grande, both times. They even repeated my order correctly back to me both times and still managed this. Two different Barrista's both did the same thing. I have no idea how they get grande out of venti, unless they all need more caffeine to wake up to process what they're hearing.
That said, still tasted good. Only complaint is the bit about hearing what I say for the size I want.
