Well what can I say about Shell Cemetery? Purposely did not Google it before my visit but was expecting old & worn out fish with houses on their backs but my dream was quickly turned off when I seen the locals delivering shells by boat to workers on the beach who were quite happy with a lump hammer hitting the poor sods in the top of their shell to get the seafood inside They then lob the broken shells to either side hence the piles of shells...

Shell cemetery beach is made up of discarded conch shells by fishermen after they have removed the edible flesh. It covers a wide area along the beach.

The beach itself is not really suitable for swimming as the water is very rough and there are numerous stones which makes it a bit difficult to walk. It has a rugged charm to it, though, as it is not like the pretty sand beaches all along Sal. It has a wild beauty of its own.

This was rather a useless venture. As the other people have said, the broken shells are just dumped on a 50 meter section of the beach. You could easily not go here and save a few minutes of your life for...

You can walk here from town. It’s a bit of a walk, but very and easy and chill. There’s a surf shack where you can have a beverage or sit down if you’re tired. Really not much to see here besides some broken conch shells. The ocean is nice and it’s very quiet here, but it’s the same along the beach.
