Angulo Beach — Restaurant in Sal

So me and my Wife are currently in Santa Maria, Sal, Cape Verde on holiday from our home in Manchester, England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿.

We are staying nearby in a lovely Airbnb but we stumbled across Angulo Beach as we were looking for somewhere for lunch.

We walked in and grabbed a table and a short time later the waiter came over to take our drink order I opted for a Pint of Local Beer 🍺(Strela) and my Wife opted for An Aperol Spritz, Drinks were well presented, tasted absolutely delicious and went down a treat in the hot Cape Verde sun 🌞.

We decided to eat at Angulo beach so my Wife opted for Fish 🐟 of the day which came with rice, Chips and salad 🥗, I opted for Chicken Burger 🍔 and fries and I ordered a side order of Onion rings, The food was well presented and my Wife really enjoyed her Fish of the day as it was extremely fresh, Cooked to perfection and the fish was with Chillies 🌶 and honestly it was absolute delicious, My Chicken burger was well presented on a bun with salad and fries, The burger was delicious, it was so fresh and juicy I really enjoyed my burger and the onion 🌰 rings were huge, crunchy and tasted amazing.

Restaurant was spotlessly clean, Super polite and friendly staff, Great service, Excellent value for money, Great fresh food, Great selection of drinks, Beautiful setting, There is a pool table, laid back, no Stress vibe, Relaxed atmosphere etc.

I can't say enough good things about this place—the food, the wait staff, and especially the manager, Susana. We were staying nearby during our recent trip to Sal and found ourselves coming back here often. The fresh juice, poke bowls, and tuna fillet sandwiches quickly became some of our favorites. No matter what anyone ordered, the food was consistently delicious. On our last day, we were celebrating the 12th birthday of a set of twins traveling with us. They really wanted an ice cream cake, which Angulos doesn’t normally offer. Susana graciously let us bring in the cake and even kept it in their freezer until it was time to celebrate. There was a hiccup that evening—their pizza chef wasn’t available, and the girls had been looking forward to having pizza at their party. Susana went above and beyond, coordinating with a local pizza place to have pizzas delivered right on time to go along with the rest of our meal. I had dinner here yesterday with a serra fillet, but the rice was cold and the fish was dry. However, the friendly staff made up for the disappointing food. This morning, I ordered a coffee and water, but the water tasted bad. I thought it was the glass, so I tried another, but it was the same. When I asked for a replacement, they refused, insisting the water was fine. I was about to leave and said I'd only pay for the coffee. They insisted on me paying for the water too, claiming it was perfect. I took the water home, bought the same brand, and confirmed it tasted off and smelled like fridge food. I returned with both bottles and asked the manager to taste and smell them. He refused to taste them and implied I'd tampered with the water. Despite asking for a simple replacement, they refused and demanded I pay for the water I didn’t drink. In the end, they offered a refund as if that mattered.
