Over rated, over price for quality food and service. Ok, so badly experience that I don't know from where should I start. The young man on tables service was completely lost, we ordered a Sparkling Wine, and a bottle of water, the water was the worst water that you can drink in Cape Verde "Trindade", that's produced in Santiago Island on a seawater desalination, for a proposed high standard restaurant it's inadequate, as well as the paper napkins instead a tissue ones. Well, after a while, the young man waiter comes saying that was no wine that we ordered, so we ask for a Cabriz white that comes hot, instead fresh, and he says I will bring a frapé, and the wine keep it still hot! We ordered as start "Ceviche" that would be Buddha's Style, because I never never had ceviche with boiled prawns, no "leche de tigre" sauce... was insipid, no flavour at all. As a main dish we ordered a mix sushi, no sashimi included, just nigiri and maki, the rice wasn't mold, probability over cooked. So definitely a to bad experience to...
Read moreThe restaurant had a very relaxed, chilled atmosphere. The service was top notch and friendly, with the staff being very welcoming and attentive. Food was so delicious for dinner, all made fresh to order and very reasonable priced. I loved the fresh fish & seafood on offer, and the different dessert options as well. The grilled tuna was a highlight for me (see picture) tasted so delicious and so fresh! They had a wide selection of drinks as well, including cocktails, wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks. With Breakfast (which was included in my stay), there was a standard buffet spread of breads, pastries and fruits, alongside fresh juices and tea/coffee options, which you pick and choose as you please. However I was very surprised that an a la carte menu was included with breakfast as well, and the cachupa with fried eggs and bacon was the best (see picture), lovely breakfast take on a Cape Verdean staple. Overall the restaurant was fantastic and the staff amazing! Would...
Read moreI stayed at the Budha Beach Hotel, so I ate at the restaurant every day. The food was amazing.
It was very delicious, good portions and very well presented. I had numerous dishes, and there wasn't anything that I thought was not up to par. The lobster paella was superb with the lobster cooked perfectly.
The family all enjoyed their meals and drinks. They also make lovely cocktails.
The meals do take a while to arrive because they are freshly cooked, but it is definitely worth waiting for.
We enjoyed the food so much we had to go and speak to the chef to convey our appreciation.
The restaurant itself is within the hotel, which is very attractive. My only gripe were the flies that harass you in the afternoons due to the nearby shell cemetery beach. They are less of a problem in the evenings.
The staff are always friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for their amazing food...
