We went in January, the warmest time in the year, but this was the coldest part of the park. Be ready for cold wind, and dress in layers. After parking (as of January 2017 a very modern warming hut/visitor station was still being built), you'll walk a few minutes to a bridge that only allows five people on it at a time, and then you'll continue hiking and you'll get warm under your layers. Once you walk on to the rock beach to get closer to the icebergs and see in the distance the glacier at the top of the lake, you'll be hit by cold wind, and you'll need to watch your footing. We didn't see large icebergs, but we did see a few. Overall, totally worth it because it's Patagonia. Looking back 4 months later, I can see it was not the highlight...
