If huge historical gardens steeped w relics n architecture from the past is ur thing then this place is a must-go. The entire place is a museum of cos, but there r also serval bldgs here n there to visit see n read about the history of the Qing n previous Dynasties n the emperors that occupied this place. A bit of a disappointment thou almost all in mandarin. Whole place can take anywhere from 1hr to 3-4hrs depending on how interested one is with the history.

Pick a time that is less packed. Went during 1st snow of winter. Packed w ppl, mostly locals. Ppl went to experience the snowfall, play n...

This is the main temple site where the emperor prayed for good harvest. It is located in the south of Beijing. The smaller temple of earth is located in the north. The smaller temples of Sun and Moon are in east and west. The temple area can be busy. East and north are main entrances. The south-west area of the park is most quiet. Surely visit that as well if you're into quiet and plants: the botanical garden is here and the living quarters of the emperor are very...

You should buy entrance ticket on Klook at least 1 day in advance. Remember to choose full option pass (because there is a park and temples). As a tourist, the easiest way to get here is metro line 5, heaven temple east gate. Its crowded place, dont expect so much. Stay a little bit far from temple of heaven (still in the main palace) to get better photoshoot. Anyway, its less crowded and more easygoing compared with Forbidden city and...
