Butterfly Beach Park — Attraction in Hong Kong

It's like stepping into a Hong Kong time machine. Old people doing KOK outdoors, traditional fan dances, kids eating ice cream, shuttlecock kickers, Chinese checkers - not a Starbucks cup in site.

One end of the beach is super crowded. There must be 100+ BBQ pits, well designed with picnic tables beside them. Park is lovely with pagoda, traditional bridges and a running track.

The other end of the beach is very quiet but for the dedicated sun worshippers - like pro-tanners.

Off shore is very shipping lane with container ships all over and a port near the quiet end. There is a small kiosk with basic beverages, snacks and beach...

Not bad, the beach water is a bit muddy,you could find some trash in it but it’s not a big deal. The site provide a BBQ site, but you’ll have to come early to get a stove because there are many people already there. At the site, you can order drinks, ice, coal and some snacks if in case you forgot to bring those, so that’s pretty nice. The parking space is not bad, you can get their by minibus or LRT.

Well maintained park, very nice to hang out their, the beach is just besides, there are always numbers of elder people singing and playing music that gives to this park a nice atmosphere. a big number of barbecue pits just by the beach make it a nice location to spend the full day with family and friends.
