This is an easy, family-friend nature trail located in the western section of the Lion Rock Country Park. It is around a 4km in distance. It is mostly flat and a relatively easy trail that merges with the MacLehose Trail Section #5 between the Kowloon Reservoir (at the southern end of the Kam Shan Country Park) and Beacon Hill.

The trail makes way through nice woodland. In addition to seeing numerous tree species, you will see a few springs during the rainy season (they are pretty dry during the drier winter months) and there are very high chances that you will encounter macaques, particularly near the start of the trail at the Kam Shan Country Park & Lion Rock Country Park boundaries.

You can combine the Eagle's Nest Nature Trail with a continuation of MacLehose Trail Section #5 to the west to the landmark Lion Rock and onward east towards Tate's Cairn. Alternatively, you could link up with Section #6 to the north through Kam Shan Country Park through the Kowloon Reservoirs area and what is known as Monkey Hill, a famous hot spot for macaques spotting...

Very relaxed hike totalling about 4km from the bus station. It's a loop so there's no way to really get lost. There are good views of Kowloon towards the end (if you follow the path and go clockwise). Don't mind the monkeys as they clear the path when you approach. Giving the hike 3 stars because of the trash on the path. Quite dirty which was a shame. The trash cans by the bus stop were also overflowing (or it could have been because of the monkeys...

The hike is beautiful and easy. At the very beginning you get to see wild monkeys. The part on the northern part of the mountain is serene and quiet, the southern side is quite noisy though, there is a big construction side close to it and it seems like it's going to be there for a while. The eagles nest nature trail is a good hike on its own but can be easily extended to a longer hike to beacon hill...
