The newly opened GoPark in Xisha, Hong Kong is a comprehensive project invested and constructed by Sun Hung Kai Properties. It officially opened in January 2025 and has attracted much attention since its opening.
Let's talk about its highlights first. It integrates shopping, dining, entertainment, and sports experience to meet the needs of different groups of people. Sports facilities are a major feature. There are professional venues for more than 10 sports such as golf, tennis, and football, as well as the only dedicated lacrosse field in Hong Kong, and the only public golf driving range in Hong Kong with Trackman radar technology on each lane. Whether you are a sports enthusiast or someone who wants to try emerging sports, you can find fun here.
The planning and design of the mall is also very careful. It was designed by the well-known Zaha Hadid Architects. It adopts a "village-style" building complex, connecting commercial spaces through corridors and courtyards, and experiencing the feeling of walking. Large areas of green walls, light-transmitting skylights, and wooden facades echo the surrounding mountain and sea landscapes, creating a unique leisure atmosphere. At the same time, it is also a pet-friendly mall with a pet park equipped with atomization cooling facilities, pet-specific water dispensers, etc., which is very friendly to pet owners. There are also abundant children's play facilities for children to play. There are various dining options, including coffee shops, Chinese dim sum restaurants, craft beer halls, Japanese cuisine, etc., to meet different tastes.
However, it also has shortcomings. In terms of transportation, although there are certain public transportation facilities around, it may not be convenient for customers who do not drive to reach the mall. The transportation cost is high, and the mall is located in a remote area, which lacks appeal to consumers living in remote areas. In addition, from the perspective of business, the flow of people fluctuates greatly on weekdays, and the popularity is not strong enough, which may affect the business conditions of some businesses.
Overall, Xisha GoPark is a mall with distinctive characteristics and good sports and leisure experience, but there is still room for improvement in terms of transportation convenience and attracting passenger flow. It is worth choosing to experience according to...
Read moreThis is a recently opened sports/leisure and restaurant complex that has opened up in an area with the newly minted name Sai Sha roughly half way between Ma On Shan and Sai Kung in the new territories. While construction remains ongoing, many of the new facilities are now open and can be enjoyed by the public.
GO PARK aims to promote sports, outdoors and basically getting people out of the city and into this rural and developing community area. The complex includes sports fields, cycling and running tracks, nature trails, several modern children's playgrounds, pet play area, outdoor rock climbing wall, gardens, yoga, spa and gym facilities and a hill themed shopping and dining complex with restaurants, bar, coffee & tea shops and ice-cream parlour. There is a GO Park Aqua area which will have kayaking and other sea related activities that remains in development.
GO PARK can be reached by several bus routes starting from University MTR Station, Ma On Shan town centre and Wu Kai Sha MTR Station. There is a fairly large parking facility nearby with shuttle service to GO PARK as well. Transportation to/from Sai Kung is less convenient right now. However, Buses 99 and 299 stop along the main road (Sai Sha Road), a few minutes walk from the main complex area so travel between the two communities is doable.
You can cycle to/from GO PARK by way of bike paths all the way to Tai Wai but best to study the route and have Google Maps up and running as there is little signage posted if you are unsure of how to get there. You can walk from Wu Kai Sha MTR Station as well and if interested, allow 30 minutes.
I've managed to visit a few times this spring and have found the facilities to be very promising for those looking to spend a bit of time away from the city. There is quite a bit available for children, rather easy to keep them happy and occupied for a couple hours at GO PARK. Also the range of restaurants is quite accessible, plenty of western options, places with fairly large outdoor and terrace seating.
Lastly, The GO PARK website is fairly comprehensive allowing you to review what is open, what activities which require registration and what events are being held in the near future. It is worth visiting beforehand...
Read moreIn all my life trying out different indoor simulators and driving ranges (including Hong Kong Golf Club), I have never heard about regulation that one bay is for one person only
Me and my friend (2 people) would like to reserve a bay for two hours, but the staff insisted that each bay could only be used by one person and deliberately booked two bays for one hour.
Do you know that why the designer put the benches behind the hitting area? Sun Hung Kai Properties please improve your training for staff, your incompetence staffs are driving away potential buyers had they known the facilities provided are...
