Located near 夫子庙 (walking distance from the Pedestrian Street), this place is known as 金陵第一园, the largest private gardens and one of Jiangnan's 四大园林. The first owner Xu Da was a comrade of Zhu Yuan Zhang, and his eldest daughter also married Zhu's grandson. There are still traces of his ownership in the front part of the garden where a path is made using tiles and cheap stones, which were decided by Xu Da as a display of prudence to align with values of Zhu Yuan Zhang.
