“Massive Architecture”
Shanghai art museum also known as Shanghai expo pavilion, which is also one of the major tourist attractions. During the world expo of 2010 it was one of the most attractive pavilions among the lot.
After the completion of the expo it was converted into Shanghai art museum. The architecture of the building represents a king’s crown during the early ages of China.
There is no entry fee; however they give you a card at the entrance to pass through the electronic gate. The building is huge and stands out compared to other usual building constructions. I took an elevator to reach the top floor where they have displayed the history of China in different stages with elegant photography.
The whole building is in red, from inside & outside. Red is the national color of China and is also considered as the color of good luck. Each floor has a different kind of art display but I felt that the major display of photography was undoubtably of their greatest modern ruler Chairman Mao.
There are some places inside the museum where you need to buy a ticket to enter. I didn’t opt for such options and went around all the freely accessible areas before exiting the museum.
