Have given my review in the title of this comment .All the things other people said on the review section are true and helped a lot .Want to add my part as a first time visitor to China .||Got a small , comfortable room which was clean ,had AC ,an electric kettle ,desk and lamp ,power socket that worked for Indian mobile chargers too, and good wifi connection .||At the reception ,few could talk English -when that didn't work ,the translator app in mobile helped .Suggest getting Google translate or itranslate app .Download the language packs so that it works offline also .Thing to note-you should have a VPN for all Google's applications to work . ||Initially they take few RMB as deposit which will be returned when you checkout .Even though I paid complete payment online (using MMT app),they still wanted the deposit .||Proximity to the metro station and world expo centre is a plus .And just adjacent to the Inn ,there is a small mart (a store ) which was open even after 11pm (not sure if that was 24 hr mart )||Had a conference to attend at Shanghai expo centre ,shibo avenue which 1.5 km away from the hotel .one can walk through the Riverside mall also which runs to the same length underground -from yaohuo Rd metro exit1/4 takes to mall.To get to jinjiang in,you need to take exit 3, turn left when you are out ,walk till the traffic signal ,turn left ,walk for 2 min ,take left into licheng road .You will find the hotel on right side next to a mart .When using Google maps (you must have VPN),suggest taking the main roads only and not the lanes .I reached late night around 12.Initially i took a small lane as showed by google maps ,but that led me into a apartment complex ,I couldn't go through other gate .couldn't get help from other people because of language barrier .Managed to come out the same way I went in ,and followed the main road .got to the hotel in 5 min .writing this to tell how safe place is .||Thanks to another reviewer whose comment helped me to get there from pudong airport . From pudong aiport ,one can take maglev train which goes till longyang road ,then walk to other side to go to metro -take line 7 - get down at yaohuo Rd which is 6th stop from longyang road.other option is to take line 2 from pudong airport metro ,get down at longyang Rd and change to line 7.This is cheaper one but takes 1.5 hr approx.||Also after check out ,as had some hours left before the return flight,I wanted to go out and see places The hotel has a baggage store which helped me a lot in this case .||I will end here .will be happy to answer any questions to this comment .To summarize ,this hotel ,Shanghai metro and wonderful people there helped me to have a pleasant and wonderful trip...
Read moreI have grown to like the value for money and quirkiness of China's five star and boutique hotels. But for a transit stop in Shanghai I decided to try something else - to focus on price and easy airport access. ||||The Shanghai metro system is excellent. This Jinjiang Inn is a three minute walk from exit number 3 of Yaohua Road metro station (print out a map of the area in advance) on line 7, a few stops west of the Longyang Road airport maglev terminal (and also on line 8, convenient for People's Square). Escalators everywhere so OK with luggage. It's in the middle of a newish Pudong suburb next to a police station, when I was there no other foreigners to be spotted in hotel or neighbourhood and not much English spoken (one of the women at reception was very good at using her smartphone translation app to explain cash deposits and how long it would take for my room to be cleaned). ||||For me the non-touristy neighbourhood and language challenge was part of the appeal (and I look forward to my second visit on the return transit). I would not recommend this hotel for your 'first night ever in China' experience but fine for the last place before flying home or for a repeat visitor to the PRC (you should know how to manage things by then).||||The inexpensive suites are large and clean with fridge (plus 2 aircos and 2 TVs). Wifi average (with a quirky login system that sometimes requires the last three digits of your room number and the last six of your passport number - phone app girl was off duty and her helpful replacement and I struggled a bit to arrive at this conclusion). ¥20 breakfast is a simple Chinese buffet, not memorable. ||||Restaurants in the area are simple and inexpensive and not geared up for tourists. Enjoy !||Room sockets take Australian, European and US...
Read moreI highly recommend this hotel for people who have business at the New Expo in Pudong (in our case, at the Mercedes Benz Arena). Despite having difficulty, staff at the reception were good enough to speak & understand basic English and are very helpful with directions and requests. There's a convenience store right beside the hotel door and the surrounding of the hotel seems to be peaceful, but maybe because you'll find a police station next to the hotel. Room is good enough for 2 people, or even 3 people as there are 2 beds -- 1 single and 1 double. You can go around without problems because a lot of things are within walking distance, particularly the MTR (Line 8; Yaohua Road; nearest to the hotel is Exit 3). People's Square is around 5 stops away. The hotel staff can also call a cab for you at no extra cost.||||For late checkout, you may pay a half-day's rate and checkout by 8pm. Nothing fancy, but if you are only looking for a decent place to sleep then this hotel is a good pick. Considering their rates, you'll get your money's worth (or even more). Staff at the front desk were very patient answering our queries despite language barrier (notwithstanding the fact that I know basic Mandarin).||||Taxi from the Pudong International Airport costs around 200RMB while Cab to/from the Maglev Station is around 33RMB. ||||Wi Fi works fine at the lobby. From the hotel door, turn right and walk straight if you want to get a taste of street food as hawkers line up the street towards the huge intersection. 5RMB will go a long way as price range is 2RMB-5RMB only including...
