All eight photos I took yesterday at the China Eastern Airline V.I.P. Lounge at the Number 77 at the Pudong International Airport Terminal 2 can tell you that the overall quality at the V.I.P. Lounge is near outstanding. However, it is a pity that the Swiss Made JWIA latte & cappuccino machine is too old because both Cappuccino and Latte always come out poorly, meaning the taste is not right at all, in addition of lacking milk etc. That is the worst Cappuccino and Latte machine I have ever seen. Even three staff members there admitted to me in person that the machine is too old. They told me that the machine is often broken again and again. This is a bit inconsistent with China's current rapid development in the areas such as hundreds of high-rise skyscrapers, massive subways, high-speed rail bullet trains, bridges and tunnels etc.
It is worth noting that a round trip economic-class ticket from New York JFK to Shanghai PVG costs $1,400 recently because the China Eastern Airline is the only airline that can offer a direct flight of JFK (New York) to and from PVG (Shanghai). It's time to replace that old coffee machine with a modern coffee machine ASAP for the benefit of all...
Read moreWe have transferred through Pudong International Airport a few times in our travels on the way to South East Asia. We even featured spending a few hours at Pudong airport on our layover from Toronto to Singapore on our YouTube channel @KassyPlusOne. Very clean and well maintained airport. Love that they have karaoke booths located in some of the terminals, so you can have fun while on a long layover. The biggest shock to us (as North American travelers) was the hot water stations instead of cold water fountains that we are used to. Grab a few tea bags, reusable bottle with you and enjoy a nice cup of tea while waiting for your flight. Great selection of restaurants and souvenir shops. We tried the Korean Traditional Restaurant and had some delicious bibimbap for the first time ever, plus indulged in some Mochi and Waffle Ice Cream. Also, Starbucks nicely surprised us with very cool cup carrying nets. Would love to have those available in Toronto, Canada locations. Overall, great experience on a long layover. Safe...
Read moreDo not expect anything during the shutdown. I was told my flight was one of 5 flights that day. While i was waiting 2 hours to check in, I did not see a single flight come in or go out. Bring your own water and snacks until you're checked in. No vending machines. No stores are available. Your flight may be delayed or canceled. I was told some passengers have waited days. I assume food and water were likely provided for those cases. After you checked in, take the time to complete the electronic form as you're waiting in line to go through security. If you complete it correctly you're have a qr code. Without it, you're not getting through. BTW. The day I went through security they confiscated sanitizing agents, even the travel sizes. Dress comfortably, no air conditioning. If you do have first class access, the lounge cooked food...
