Shanghai Circus World Ticket Office — Attraction in Shanghai

Shanghai Circus World is a unique experience. Its a cross between a Cirque de Soleil show and an acrobatics show. With a little bit of the Beijing Opening Ceremony of the Olympics tossed in.

I saw many people take a tour to get here, but I'm not sure why. Its located next to the metro station (called Shanghai Circus station) and you just enter with your ticket. Or if you want you can take a taxi or DiDi (Uber in China).

The acts in the show were amazing. Fun to watch and entertaining for the whole family. Although its not a circus, so little kids might be bored. Halfway through the show they have a 10 minute intermission. The show features live music and performer.

I would NOT recommend getting the VIP seats. I was in section A (lower) and four rows from the front. I could see the sweat on the performers. Tickets are not assigned ahead of time, so arrive about 30-45 minutes early to get good seats (ask for close seats if possible).

As you enter they have snack stands with chocolate/candy, popcorn, soda, beer, water. As you leave they have some souvenirs.

There are some glaring issues with Shanghai Circus. Its touted as multimillion dollar tourist attraction. The best part were the performers. The sets they use were old and dated, costumes were dirty, seats were uncomfortable, bathrooms need improvements, and the entrance is nothing special. Its not like going to a theater in New York or San Francisco where they have a grand lobby, nice bar, well maintained seats, and new outfits for the performers.

Experience truly talented acrobats and performers at the ERA circus in Shanghai. I've seen numerous acrobatic circuses around the world, and ERA does a great job of keeping the performances fresh and exciting. Don't expect the perfection of Cirque du Soleil (their music, acting, performers, etc. often seem to be perfectly synchronized), but you'll doubtless have a great time. The ERA troupe put a unique spin on numerous acts, which had me "wow-ing" multiple times. I was also surprised to see many performers in multiple acts, showing that they're truly a multi-talented group! You won't be disappointed that you spent your evening here. The ERA-Intersection Of Time show is just fantastic. Jaw-dropping acrobatics, tumbling, aerial work and a high production quality make this a very worthwhile event. Our 2 kids loved it, and my wife and I joined them in hooting and hollering in praise at the performers, as they truly demonstrated some of the most amazing things the human body is capable of. It didn't look like there was a bad seat in the house, but we opted to spend more on a close-up row, and were very happy to sit so close to the action.
