We found out through a Colombian friend we were charged a little bit more for being foreigners. When confronted about it they sent our Colombian friend to speak with three different persons “in charge” and ultimately got the excuse that they overcharge foreigners because they have to be more patient with us and talk more slowly. I’m fluent in Spanish and did not notice our guide talking any more slowly than she would normally have spoken. In fact, the supposed 60-minute tour only lasted for 20 minutes. Maybe because we were foreigners our guide thought it was unnecessary to speak that much. Also, she knows approximately 5 words of English. The overcharging is of a ridiculously small amount of pesos, but what’s disappointing is the fact that they’re being dishonest. The tour itself is not much of a spectacle. They have put up some umbrellas and painted colorful wings on a piece of wood for their instagramability, but that doesn’t nearly make up for the lack of “amazing panoramic views”.
