In general, these islands are very nice places to go to relax and have a break from the routine. The waters are crystal clear, with different tones of blue, the sand is white and there are beautiful colorful fish and corals beneath the water. There are different activities you can do, like going to the aquarium, snorkeling and boat trips around the islands. I personally prefer to do snorkeling because you can interact with the fish, feed them and see them in their habitat. But if you are not a fan of snorkelling, then I would highly recommend going to the The oceanarium because it is a very nice place, there are many fish as well that you can see without having to get into the water. And you can also take a picture with a dolphin.
The food in the island is very exotic and most of it includes seafood. You can also get coconut rice and a typical drink called "agua de panela" which is made out of sugar cane and is sweet and very refreshing.
I live this place! The oceanarium, the beaches, the weather, it is just a paradise. Definitely...
Read moreThis was a dreadful place that is sandwiched between 2 1-hour boat rides to get there and back in which your butt will be bouncing off a fiber glass surface as the aging boat hits each wave. If you have never seen an aquarium, you might be impressed by this one. If you have, I can promise disappointment. The island's other primary activity is snorkeling, and this is not a great place to see anything of interest. Besides the aquarium and the snorkeling, there is nothing to do on the small and cluttered island other than hide in the shade of a snack bar that houses a bunch of disappointed tourists and bees... Lots and lots of bees. You had better hope your boat isn't delayed for departure because you might to start getting nauseous from the smell of the exhaust from all the boats. Should you need to evacuate your gut, using the toilet costs 5 mil pesos. If you are considering coming to this island and want to have a better time, I would suggest getting mugged in Manga as a more enjoyable...
Read moreWe went on this tour and learned that swimming with dolphins is not included—you must pay an extra $40 USD per person for only 5 minutes. It’s not a private activity either; several groups are in the water at the same time, so it feels crowded. The staff also don’t take pictures for you, which made it difficult to capture the moment. My partner asked and was told no. We even saw a couple from Spain who didn’t get to do it at all because their boat was leaving, and they were very upset.
On top of the dolphin fee, you first have to do a mandatory 45–50 minute guided tour around the Oceanario before your turn. Between the long wait and the short time with the dolphins, it honestly didn’t feel worth it. Be prepared for the extra charges and delays if you plan to add...
