Cartagena Island Hopping Tour: Honest Review 🇨🇴

Let’s cut to the chase: If you’ve been to Southeast Asia (Thailand/Philippines/Bali), Australia/Pacific Islands, Cancún, or even Egypt’s Red Sea, this tour is skippable. I joined out of curiosity for the bioluminescent bay… but spent half the trip questioning my life choices. 🚤 The Itinerary (Disappointment Edition) 7:30 AM - Hotel pickup → 1.5-hour drive to the pier. Crowded boat split between Spanish/English speakers. 1st Stop: "Snorkeling" 🏊♂️ Basic masks (no snorkels). Coral/fish life? Barely existent. 2nd Stop: "Underwater Plane" ✈️ Visibility so poor, only 2 of us sorta saw a blurry shadow. 3rd Stop: Lunch Island 🍛 Generic rice + meat plate (edible but forgettable). 4th Stop: Party Cove 🎵 Overpriced drinks (50,000 COP for a soda?!). Banana boat rides (extra $$$). Felt cheap compared to other global beach destinations. 5th Stop: White-Sand Beach (the one pretty spot) 🏖️ 3-hour wait for sunset (with more $$$ snacks). 6th Stop: Bioluminescent Lagoon 🌌 "Lucky" to see it (no rain), but underwhelming. No photos possible—just a faint glow. Return: 1-hour bus ride back. Exhausted. 💸 Cost & "Perks" $70 USD (~290,000 COP) Includes: Lunch + "open bar" (Baileys at 8 AM? Two shared Coke bottles? 😅). Final Verdict Only for the extremely bored or first-time island hoppers. 5/10 for effort. #ColombiaTravel #Cartagena #IslandFail #LatinAmerica #GlowInTheDark
