This is an improvement on the beach at Cartagena / Bocagrande.. but it’s ruined by over development. The entirety of the beach is taken up by vendors so you only have about 1-2 metres of sand to walk on between the vendors and water. I’m so shocked hardly any of these reviews are showing the true reality of what this beach looks like - reviews are supposed to help each other plan our holidays by accurately sharing our experiences!

Additionally, there are so many boats and jet skis etc - that you are constantly getting a lung full of thick gasoline smoke. There are even mopeds which pelt up this slim path of sand.

I would highly recommend spending a bit more money and going to the Rosario islands on a day trip to get the best experience.

If you do want to come to this beach, I’d recommend walking further down the beach as there are slightly less people, boats and the vendors are a little but...

Please be careful here! There are people stealing, even from your closed bags that are right next to you! Even if the beach is empty and you have your bag right next to you. My mobile phone was stolen from my closed bag while we were waiting for a Plancton tour. A group of men turned up, hassled us and one just took my bag. They said they were supposed to bring us to the pick up spot for the Plancton tour. Then they rushed us 20 metres further and disappeared, along with my mobile phone. Nobody from the beach bar where we waited or the plancton tour cared in the slightest. The only nice people were a few other beach visitors. Please please be careful here, maybe even bring a padlock to lock your bag, and if you choose an agency make sure they actually stay with you for the whole...

Nice and more tranquil than Playa Blanca Barú because there are less tourists and tour boats arriving. It's a short 15-minute walk from Playa Blanca, so there is no need to take the 5-minute boat taxi. There are larger rocks in the water, so you'll need water shoes or to be careful. Also be careful of the vendors, resorts, restaurants grossly overcharging you if you did not book a set package. Check my reviews for one resort restaurant on Playa Tranquila that grossly...

Me estafaron.

The beach is beautiful but the floor of the water is too rocky, I prefer sandy beaches. Don't get deceived by the pictures of clear water, a couple of meters in you cannot see anything underwater, I don't consider it good for diving or snorkeling. Tents are very expensive in my opinion and street vendors can be very annoying.
