Hotel CALAMARI BARU — Hotel in Cartagena

Hotel Calamari literally saved our vacation. We booked another hostel down the beach and upon arrival, they told us the hostal was no longer in business. So, I hustled to find another option and Hotel Calamari had an opening. I booked it on my phone and we hobbled our way down the beach to our new accommodations. Gisela greeted us with a much needed smile and some very good English. Check in was swift and professional, we opened up a tab (which was a great decision) and settled in. Mind you, we booked this room 10 minutes before checking in, so we had to take what we could get. The room was tiny, dark and damp. I'd equate it visually to a large sauna with a bed in it. There was no view and very little light came in even with the window open, but others had lovely rooms with sea views, just not us. It was so hot and the fan was nice, but we were never "comfortable"... but that could just be us being spoiled Americans who like their A/C. The shower was refreshing and clean and it was a treat to having running water and electricity 24/7. There was a nice charging dock in the room. ||The food was fresh and yummy and the staff was always super helpful and wanted to make you feel safe and taken care of. ||This is a laid-back, relaxing spot... but take note.. the place next door is crazy from 6am to 4am. Music constantly pumping 22 hours a day and people always partying. So, while Calamari is quiet, their neighbor is not. So, if you're looking for peace and serenity, you probably won't get it here... but let's face it, if you're looking for quiet, don't go to Playa Blanca at all!||The hustlers on the beach were annoying. They all sold the exact same goods and services. Just keep saying No and they will leave you alone. Don't even let the massage girls touch you. Ubicación:El hotel está ubicado en una excelente ubicación, justo en frente de la playa Blanca. La playa es una de las más hermosas de Colombia, con arena blanca, aguas cristalinas y palmeras.

Habitaciones:Las habitaciones del hotel son cómodas, pero no están bien equipadas. La habitación para 4 adultos es pequeña y tiene una vista terrible. El aire acondicionado es pequeño y portátil, y no es muy eficiente.

Si desea evitar el servicio grosero, tenga cuidado...

Un Eco hotel con una buena ubicación en la zona de Playa Blanca, atendido por Álex un Italiano enamorado de este país de esta zona y con conciencia de turismo sostenible, el hotel cuenta con servicios de agua dulce para aseo personal y energía eléctrica todo el tiempo, ya que cuenta con un sistema propio de paneles solares, las habitaciones cuentan con ventiladores que permiten que el aire circule y mantenga la habitación con un clima agradable. No todas las habitaciones cuentan con baño propio sin embargo, los que se comparten no permanecen ocupados ya que hay suficientes para cubrir la demanda de los huéspedes, antes de hacer su reserva, por favor verifique cuáles son las condiciones y disponibilidad de las habitaciones.

Hay dos formas de llegar a este bonito lugar, por mar, desde el muelle junto a la zona amurallada donde abordará una lancha rápida que lo llevará en aproximadamente 30 minutos, o por vía terrestre en auto o bus desde Cartagena, donde el promedio de tiempo es de una hora, de la carretera principal haciendo la zona de playa está como a 5 minutos conduciendo, ahí se llega a una zona de parqueo desde donde se camina por la playa por algunos diez minutos, (los lugareños intentarán convencerte que es más lejos y que debes tomar una lancha o que es más lejos de lo que dices, algunos de ellos te llevan la maleta por una propina)

Calamarí cuenta con una interesante cocina gourmet y una variada alimentación para las comidas, recomendable las pastas y la langosta. Consulte los precios. Todo valdrá la pena.

Desde allí habrá diferentes actividades, salidas y toures que podrá aprovechar ya que están mucho más cerca que desde la ciudad de capital costera, (recomendable: tour del plancton, careteo en el coral y playa agua azul, hay otros pero son los que personalmente hice) si les ofrecen Cholón, les aconsejaría que lo obviaran, es una isla para la rumba y comer, pero considero que hace falta control de precios y mayor cuidado del lugar, se ve descuidado.

Por último, para salir de la zona lo puede hacer por cualquiera de las dos maneras mencionadas anteriormente, sin embargo el regreso en lancha no tiene impuesto al retornar a la ciudad de Cartagena.

El servicio ofrecido en el hotel es muy bueno y todos están dispuestos a colaborar, desde Álex, su equipo de trabajo, Esther o Jeider o las personas que están en la cocina.
