My first time in a coffee farm (and not liking coffee in my everyday life), I came into the farm open to learning from a new experience. Before I go into details, below are the overall feeling/themes that I got from the tour—appreciation from the level of detail and care that I was given, awe and respect for the process of coffee making, and more informed about different qualities of coffee. Below are my highlights:

(1) Greeted by Sebastian at the gate, he offered to either speak in English or Spanish. The first half of the tour was held in English. In the latter half, we were joined by a Mexican visitor. If you are a language learner, this was a good experience to test your Spanish skills as it happened for me. (2) We learned about the major stages of coffee making, including but not limited to the following: planting and reasons for setting up an ecosystem of other plants to support the growth of coffee (eg plantain trees to collect water that would later nourish the coffee plants), harvesting coffee beans, refining the beans, and cooking (eg roasting the beans, grinding them, and slow pouring the coffee). (3) In each stage of the aforementioned process, we were brought to different parts of the farm to see how the whole property is staged as a representative of the cycle. This gave me an understanding of the value of the land and its importance to the local economy. (4) Timing—I asked why I was the only one who visited at the time. Ultimately I learned that I came in the shoulder season before the higher influx of tourists. What this meant for me was a personalized tour that felt so private and intentional. For the 2.5 hours that I spent in the countryside, learning not just about coffee but also getting to know a little bit about Colombian life and culture from my conversation with Sebastian.

Altogether, I highly recommend this finca visit. It was truly a great start and introduction to the EJe Cafetero

PS the Willy ride to and from the finca was a fun and atmospheric experience getting deep into the region, seeing the...

If I could give the tour here 10 stars I would!!! If you're a coffee lover, this is heaven. If you're not, this tour might be what convinces you otherwise.

It was very easy to book over whatsapp and they replied very fast. Parts of the road are unpaved but it's still possible to get there with a normal car if you take it slow.

Our guide Nicolas was extremely nice and funny, we couldn't have wished for anyone better to show us around. He was very knowledgeable about everything we asked, and able to give the tour in english and spanish. We learned a lot about the production of coffee, but also about the farm and other plants and animals. While we waited he entertained us with magic tricks as well, a highlight of our time there. They also make sure you're sustained with some fresh fruit and snacks straight from the farm, so you won't go hungry.

They're very flexible when you can tour and just have to inquire per WhatsApp when you want to come. We happened to be the only ones at our time so it was basically like a private tour.

At the end of the tour, you get to roast and drink your own coffee - it's great to be able to taste it from the finca and enjoy your hard work.

The finca is also ecologically sustainable, they don't use chemical pesticides and grow an abundance of plants to keep the soil and coffee trees healthy. It is a locally owned business so a great option to support as well!

They are also planning to add other, longer tour options, so make sure to inquire about those too and see what fits best for you.

It didn't feel rushed and we were able to take our time and enjoy everything. They didn't have any coffee to buy there, but they will deliver it to you the next day if you're in the region. Next time we're in Colombia we'll definitely come back and have Nicolas show us more...

Such a phenomenal finca and tour by Majo. A must DO!

Firstly, of the copious coffee shop visits and 3 fincas visited during our trip (2 in Salento, 1 in Minca), this was my favorite both on site and taken home. Exquisite coffee that is definitely worth a purchase (I'd contract if I could).

Finca tours can be as simple as a stationary rundown of the operations and process, or include a tour of the property - this one is a comprehensive property tour through the farm and down to the river below. It's superb and highly recommended if you're okay with the down and up (hillside after-all). You get an up-close and immersive experience including roasting, grinding and brewing. Hospitality and expertise are top notch, helping one to feel comfortably at home while attaining knowledge (and glorious coffee).

With beautiful grounds, well-thought tour process amidst the air of comfort, I'd make this a MUST-DO when in the area... and if short on time, swing by and at least procure some coffee...
