Probably one of the nicest tours I have ever had. It was just my girlfriend and I, so it was literally a private tour by the owner of the farm. Carlos is an absolute legend, he took us around the farm, showing us the different kind of plants and explaining to us what they could be used for. He told us everything about his sustainable business model and how the coffee production works, not only locally but at a global scale as well. We learned plentifully about the history and the industry of coffee, and wrapped up the tour with a taste of the (delicious) coffee they make.
It definitely felt as authentic as possible, it was lovely to actually visit a coffee farm not infested by tourists and get a tour that didn’t seem commercial at all. The cost was 45k COP per person (without including the transport, since we walked all the way there...
Read moreWe went for a tour and tasting today and absolutely loved it. We try to be conscious consumers and learning about polycrop and sustainable coffee production was amazing. The coffee here is grown with other native plants to ensure biodiversity is maintained and also means the use of pesticides is greatly reduced. If they use anything, it's usually a biological pest control (ie. Using a fungus to help control beetles). We had our initial intro with Carlos and then tour with Santiago. They were both passionate about sustainable coffee production and this is so important. The coffee was great. Highly recommend, especially if you want great quality coffee that is produced sustainably and consciously with the health of the planet in mind. Support farms like this! Muchas gracias...
Read moreThis is an amazing coffee tour. Don Carlos will not simply show you his increadible farm, he will educate you on eco-friendly and sustainable agriculture. The property and houses are really beautiful, and the farm is lush and full of so many interesting plants and fruits. This tour is not only about the coffee plants, its also about history, agriculture, and all the other amazing plants they grow on the farm. In the end, you get to taste a small cup of the coffee grown on the farm. Each coffee tour in this area is different, and if you're looking for a tour showing you the enitre coffee process from seed to brew, this tour may not be what you're looking for. But in my opinion it is unmissible because it is educational...
