Truth about this place... well if you said at the waterfall "I wish I could swim in that" here is your chance. It's only a few kilometers east of the ranger station at the bridge and is the first water to leave the park, so it's very clean and cold. Parking is by donation... I didn't ask I just gave 2 Mil and that seemed to please the local that was taking money. Added bonus is my car was intact when I finished my swim. Hike down the short gravel path to the water which is visible from where you park, maybe 100yds. Lovely views and relaxing soaking. It's not very deep and loaded with round river rocks about shin high everywere under water. Find a rock to sit and soak those hiking legs and take it all in. Only thing missing was the yummy food vendors from the...

This was amazing. We considered going into the actual park but found this free pool instead. We got there mid morning and were the only ones there. We paid 1000 local currency ($2) to park and they were so happy they had us sample their chocolate and coconut, it was almost like a trail mix. Anyways, the water was the most beautiful cerulean color I’ve ever seen. It was cool but perfect for swimming and nice and refreshing. A nice wood chipped path from the parking lot. And plenty of fun rocks to climb while swimming. 100% worth a stop. There’s a pineapple and mango stand right up the road in the mix of all the restaurants and the actual park that is totally worth going too. Best pineapple...

This was a great refreshing place to cool off after hiking and a neat experience to swim in such a blue river. Its a FREE actual RIVER. So as long as you understand that lol, its wonderful. I d imagine it may get busy but We were there on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't bad. There's people but not crowded. There is a parking lot I think the man charges for it and he has juice and stuff for sale. But we parked on the side of the road for free and walked down. I was barefoot and did just fine in there. If you're someone concerned about rocks- you are in a river. Just bring watershoes. Very nice...

It’s a kilometre away south of Tenorio Volcano National Park entrance. You will come across a bridge crossing the Rio Celeste where you can enjoy a cool dip. There’s a parking lot just before the bridge for a fee or park around the bend…that’s where we parked. The water was so refreshing after hours of hiking in the park. Our plan was to do a one day trip to hike the Tenorio Volcano National Park, do the Sloth Tour and drive back to Samara but we decided to glamp overnight close to the park which gave us a chance to explore the Bijagua area including this free Rio Celeste pool. It worked perfectly.
