First, this is a trailhead to a world-class swimming hole and not a mirador. The trail is maintained by ma, pa and their two grown up hijos. Fee to hike is $6/per head...cheap by CR trail fee standards. You park in their front yard. Trail is 20 to 30 minutes with 300 foot vertical over the 1 km trail. There are 4 or 5 steep pitches but la familia has placed sturdy, vinyl coated cable rails everywhere they are needed. Mama will loan you a broom handle hiking stick if you smile and ask her nicely! When you first see the river you will say there's no way to swim in churning rapids, but hike to trail end and you'll see the swimming hole complete with a small changing...

You can tell the family that runs it takes a lot of pride in the property. There were even inflated tethered tubes at the swimming hole so we could float in the river.
