White Water Excitement Costa Rica — Attraction in Turrialba

We had a friend who lives in CR recommend rafting the Pacuare. It wasn't on our radar and I'm so glad he did. It was a terrific way to start our CR trip. We did a two day paddle. Our guide Esteban was with us both days and terrific. The first day is pretty mild which was great to get used to paddling. We stayed that night at the Rios Lodge. Our room had an amazing room in a building overlooking the River. Bathroom en suite. Not super luxe but very clean and nice. The food was solid and there is even a bar. We arrived at lunch and spent the afternoon swimming in a natural pool and doing a short nature walk around the property. Day 2 was more exhilarating - class 3 and 4. We aren't experienced rafters but felt completely safe with Esteban who was knowledgeable, helpful and super skilled. We even watched how the crew (there were a few boats plus a safety kayak in our group the second day) sprang into action when someone fell out of raft. All was well and it was great to see everyone knew exactly what to do....

I wanted to wait to get my pictures to share, but I haven’t been able to download them yet. I must say that this was the most exciting tour that I have ever been on! I think I booked it through Another source, but I wish I would have booked it through Excitement Costa Rica. I was hesitant to book with a company that I didn’t know anything about, but be assured that these guys are the best! My guide, Cristopher💟 was so passionate about his life, his work, and the safety of each one of us. He made it so fun for all. I think he purposely took the weakest of the group but he whipped us into shape really fast! Everyone has to pull their weight. I never felt unsafe during the trip. The white-water adventure was highlight of our 13-day G Adventure tour. Do not miss this opportunity to raft the Class III-IV rapids. The guides were excellent and made everyone feel safe, and adventure is legit. Beautiful canyon walls can be seen on trip and a serious work-out if you are looking to add something to laying around the pool. Combine the rafting trip with staying at the Ave Sol Sanctuary Lodge where you can listen to insects and monkeys louder than any human noises.
